My compaq b1255tu motherboard got burnt.can it be repaired or i have to buy a new one.

The mother board cannot be repaired, you need to purchase another mother board, but that might not be a good idea, cost wise. It might be a better idea to buy a new computer, something with windows 7, the best operating system ever.

Generally this type of problem arises due to Battey. But in u r case it appears like a Mother Board Problem.So u better to visit nearer HP/compaq Service Station u can extende warranty for another year if ur previous extended warranty expired within 6 months...there is a provision in HP Customer Support.
Apart from this You can buy third party Mother boards compatible for V 2000 in other Laptop Acessories store
