Easiest way is to connect the printer to a router as this printer has a built in network card. Print out a configuration report and check to see if the printer configured an ipv4 address. Once that is ready add a network printer on the other computers, this will allow for multiple users to use the printer without slowing any of the computers up.

This sounds like a Scanner/Flatbed Problem. "The printer report a Scanner Error 5" This series of printers have a known problem
with this component. The scanner is failing to initialize itself. The scanner
does need to be changed by an Authorized HP Warranty Repair Facility. It is
possible that it may be covered under an HP Extended Warranty program. See
