For Windows 7 and 8, no drivers are needed. Yes your computer installs drivers but you get them from Microsoft direct.
Only equipment, certified by Microsoft, is allowed on these operating systems. The drivers are free. When you conned the camera to the computer, Windows will goto the Microsoft database, and get the correct driver. The software to manage the pictures, or to transfer the pictures from the camera to the computer you have to install from the CD that came tithe the camera. When you lost the CD please goto the samsung website and get the software (It will be free of charge for camera owners)

I just had the same problem. All I did to solve it was take the battery out, scratch the contact on the battery (CAREFULLY) and put the battery back in and now it works. The contacts must have oxadised a little. This is not good as far as quality is concerned but it was an easy fix. Hope this helps! PS I love my WB500!!!
If you renamed them in your computer and then inserted the card into your camera, they won't show up. The computer uses a different system to write to the card.
