Keep loosing my wirless connection

Please help.
I have been loosing my wireless connection now on and off for about 2 weeks. AOL is my service provider but i have been going on line via MSN with out the need to log on through AOL because i recenlty removed AOl of my PC. I have now reinstalled their software.

My green D is showing a full signal with 90% + signal strength
I have even tried connecting straight to the router via cable.

I have also gone into the Router set up page 192.168.1.1 and sometimes allthough i have a full wirelss signal it says on connection status Disconnected. Though also sometimes when it says connected i still cant get on line.
Please can you advise as im getting frustrated because some days all works fine and then others not.

Router setup page for a DLINK should be 192.168.0.1 Right click on the D and click on show available wireless networks. There maybe more than showing. If a neighbor has one or if you have another pc it might be trying to use rhe network card from that oc. Make sure that you click on DLINK for wireless connection. You just may see some other connections and find out that it's trying to use another connection.

I can log on to my wireless account and get online, but then it i lose the signal, and when i scan, it picks up signal stenght on 90 % but wont connect, I can hard wire it and i get online with no...

The problem lies in the wireless connection. Either the wireless adapter on the game console, or with your wireless router. Although wireless internet makes it easier to get online and play, it is actually the worst choice for online gaming. this is due to the lag time in the signal relay to the router. Wired internet is the best choice for online gaming. If you can hook your console up to a wired internet connection, then I suggest you do that.

I would reinstall any updated driver for the wirless adpator now if that does not help you might try lowering the security at your acess point to a 64 bit wep key to speed up connection identification.

Also you might want to hard reset your router as well.

If your xbox is also connecting wirelessly, you have to input also the wireless security key on your xbox to be able to connect.

Wireless Connection limited range and intermittent

1. Access the router's setup page then go to wireless tab and change the current wireless channel to a different one.
