They said that Canon quit stocking repair parts for the BJC-6000 last year, and that when they do that, they destroy all such parts on hand. Download the User Manual for Canon BJC 6000 InkJet instead of Canon BJC 6100 InkJet as the latter has been discontinued hence you will not get the User Manual for it but the one mentioned in the below mentioned site is similar to it or else contact Canon 1-800-OKCANON.

It has a sensor that checks the ink tanks, if ink is full you may have a bad sensor, or a paper scrap covering.
Try to open the printer cover and look for tiny paper shreds that might got stuck between the rollers. Also if your printer has a sensor, there could also be a tiny piece of paper blocking it, thus sensing a paper jam.
