11x17 paper jams from drawer - will not feed from sheet bypass

You probably need to set the user settings to "long doc" mode.

1) When the machine is in the standby state,
press the NEW FILE key and Count Only key
simultaneously. During the user mode, the
LEDs of the NEW FILE key and Count Only
key illuminate and the address (U01-U10)
and data (the last digit) appear on the
counter display.
2) When changing the address, use the NEW
FILE key. Each time NEW FILE is pressed,
the address changes, cycling from U01 to
U10.
3) When changing the data, use the Count Only
key. Each time Count Only is pressed, the
data changes.
4) Pressing the Stop key exits the user mode.

Long document mode =U10; 0=normal and 1=long document mode.

make sure your drawer size shows 11x17 on display if not push user interface button then select the drawer and set it to 11x17

Not picking up paper indicates either a worn nip roller (rubber on feed spindle) or you have a broken gear in the feed mechanism.

The paper lift housing is cracked. The clicking noise is made by the lift gears skipping teeth.
It needs to be serviced...in the mean time, you might try feeding 11 x 17 paper through the manual feeder (bypass tray). Or if you need many 11 x 17 copies, it is possible to set another paper drawer to 11 x 17 size...just set the plastic tag in the front of cassette to LD so the machine knows what size of paper to expect (if tag is set incorrectly, machine will jam EVERY TIME)

Paper feed rollers in tray need replacement.

I can't tell you for sure which thing I tried and worked, but I noticed the USB cable looked slightly damaged, so I switched it out. But the thing that I actually think did it was that I was using the A3 size paper because there was no 11x17 paper size with the exception of a banner 11x17, which I didn't try becuase I wasn't creating a banner.
But none the less, that did it.

this is probably the sensor inside the transfer sheet or the reflection plate under the cleaning blade assy being dirty. also there is a reflection plate on the bottom of the transfer sheet near the gear assy

When you say TOP TRAY, do you mean a paper drawer, or the BYPASS TRAY? If the labels won't feed into the bypass but bond paper does, check to see if your labels are made for inkjet printers. Go to www.avery.com and contact Avery customer support to see what product they recommend for your MFC. Labels made for plain paper printers sometimes do not work for inkjets, and vice-a-versa.

Regular copy paper that I got from the Staples. Same paper in the paper tray/drawer as in the multi-bypass tray. Thanks.

light explain link check first!.... paper jam light indicates a few things ie paper mismatch.

possible dirty feed roller, confirm by using bypass slot.

slightly damp rag on rubber feed roller to clean if the issue
