Hi,
every scanner I have owned makes a knocking noise. That includes Epson and Canon and HP.
There is no adjustment that I have found.
If you are concerned ring the Dell Support phone number.
Cheers,
Steve

7600i not scanning full slide?

It's possible that the scanner is not correctly detecting the slide frame size or that the slide is not positioned correctly on the scanner bed. Here are some things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the slide holder: Make sure that the slide holder is properly aligned with the scanner bed and that it's not blocking the edges of the slide.
  2. Clean the scanner bed: Make sure that the scanner bed is clean and free of any dust or debris that might be interfering with the scanning process.
  3. Adjust the scanning settings: Try adjusting the scanning settings to ensure that the scanner is set to scan the full frame of the slide. Look for options such as "auto detect slide size" or "manual crop" to adjust the scanning area.
  4. Use a different scanning software: If the issue persists, try using a different scanning software to see if that resolves the problem.
  5. Check for firmware updates: Make sure that your scanner's firmware is up to date. You can check the manufacturer's website for any available updates or patches.
If none of these solutions work, you may need to contact the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance.

it may need a lifter or valve adjustment when cold they will tick or knock depending on how loose or worn out then when it warms up they swell with heast and noise stops. after adjusting or replacing it will stop making noise

Scanning red and green over image! black and white, and color art prints. can i adjust something?

Had the same on my Epson Perfection 1650. I was about to throw it out but decided to take a look inside. Unscrewed and took the top off (with glass bed), then unscrewed the area that houses the scanner light and a set of three mirrors, cleaned with a lens brush the mirrors although did not see any more than one spec. Put it all back together and now it works great. not sure what I fixed, but it IS fixed. may have been put together badly in the factory as this problem happened soon after purchase. I may have knock something out of place at some point. Anyway you may be lucky too!

Clicking nosie from scanner bed on epson cx5800f

I had a similar problem, the scanner bar was stuck to the far left side. Here's how I fixed it:

1)Unplug the printer, disconnect any cables/phone lines to it.
2)Lift up the entire scanner bed housing(you will see the printer ink cartridges).
3)Locate the access patch (approx 1 cm x 1 cm square) along the left edge of the scanner bed housing(this is the side that closes in, next to the keypad buttons).
4)Using a small knife blade, peel off the patch from the corners and edges(it's sticky. Save it, you can stick it back over the hole when you're done).
5)Stick a pen through the access hole, and push the scanner bar to the right, approximately 2-3 inches.
6)Now, close the scanner housing, plug in the printer, and power it on.

It should reset and re-calibrate the scanner bar. If it doesn't, repeat steps 5) and 6) a couple times, until the printer correctly performs calibration. Then, you can put the sticky patch back over the hole, and you're ready to go. Hope this helps!
