Video input not recognized

Hi - can you help? When I connect my DVD player to the projector (RCA cord), the projector doesn't read the video input. The video input is set on automatic, and it worked yesterday.

  • JBerger Mar 18, 2008

    No, unfortunately not.

The signal is coming to the projector fine. I tried it with another identical projector and it worked without a problem. I also checked to see that the 2 projectors had the same settings, and they do.

Will it work if you change the input to manual and select the correct imput source?

It's possible that the RCA jack on the video board is bad, can you try connecting a device that has SVIDEO to it to see if that works?

Tf d Ihave a tf dvd7100 I am trying to hook it up to my tv to plac a movie cd

HI,
Before connecting the the DVD to your TV First of all you have to the audio out put of your for the do the following using the setup menu.

Press SETUP button of of the DVD player to show "setup" menu. Select the audio setup the select the digital out then change to OFF from SPIDF/RAW.

Here i have added a picture which shows how to hookup the dvd player to a TV. Its for the same model that you have .
to make the connection you need two codes
1. 3.5mm stereo to two RCA (for audio)
2. 3.5mm mono to single RCA(for video)
connect the first cord to inoptical/audio and second one to video output of the dvd player.
connect the cable which comes from the video out out of dvd to the video input (yellow) of your TV. then connect the cable which comes from the inoptical/audio of the dvd player to the audio input of the TV (red and white ).

You have to select the input of your TV by pressing the AV/ source selection on the remote of the TV. check where you made the connection on the tv AV 1 or AV 2. then select the corresponding input. hope you will get it worked.

Also Added the image of the cable that you need to make the connections.

How do you hook the lcd projector to a portable dvd player?

The Dell 1100MP has SVideo and RCA input connections you can use, it all really depends on the type of video out connection that your portable DVD player has.

I am trying to hook up a Memorex DVD player (MVD 2022), and I am not getting it to work. I need to see how to connect the cords or what cords I need. I can't seem to find how to download a manual.

Connect a yellow RCA cable from the yellow video jack on the DVD player to the yellow video input jack on the TV. This will give you the picture. For sound, connect a white RCA cable from the white audio jack on the DVD player to the white audio input jack on the TV. This will give you sound. Use the TV remote to select the input you connected the DVD player to, just press INPUT SELECT or VIDEO or the like until you see the DVD player's output.

Power on the TV and the DVD player. Place a DVD in the disc tray of the player and press PLAY.

If your TV has only a RF coax input, then you will need to buy an RF Modulator.

Audio doesnt come thru my hdmi cable from the dvd player. And video doesnt go thru hdmi cable to projector. Have to run rca cables to both

Hi there
Check your DVD players' settings/manual to ensure the HDMI port is the default output port. Also confirm that both audio and video are enabled on that HDMI channel as it can be separated to be only video or only audio in a lot of cases.
Confirm you are at least getting video out from the DVD with a direct connection to your projector with the HDMI cable.
If video is making it to the projector direct from the DVD, you will need to confirm your amp is monitoring the HDMI input if there isn't a specific input selection for it. Connect your DVD to the amp and your amp to the projector and test again that you are still getting video AT LEAST. This will help narrow down which device is not playing the HDMI game if you still have issues at this point.
To sum up;
Confirm HDMI is the default output from the DVD for both audio and video.
Ensure you are getting video AT LEAST with a direct test to projector.
Confirm your amp is monitoring the HDMI input coming from the DVD.
Hope this helps.

Projector giving green picture it is ok with RCA inputs ok with S video input but if i connect component connector like 15 pin vga from dvd player it gives green picture but with same cable if i connect pc...

I think, the issue might be because of lenght of the composite cable. Not all projectors can "recognize the signal" on too long composite cables, try a "standard size" cable used on monitors, it is i THINK 1,8 feet long...? Dunno. Try two short cables and see if you get "green" - if not, then your cable is too long and gives the signal to much "resistance", so your projector can "read" only one of the color channels, in your case green. If your projector setup requires long cables (and it usually does ;) ), you will have to stick to Cinch connectors and analog video signal, which I have tested on 35m long cable without any visible quality loss. Hope this helps. ;)

Dvd connection

Does your cable box have rca jacks on it. If so you can run your cable cord from the wall to the input on the cablebox. Then from the cable box to the dvd. Your cable box should have the audio lines which are red and white. Connect those to the dvd's red and white inputs. And the yellow video cord from the cablebox to the dvd video input. Try that................I hope that was helpful for you..........Please rate this information..........Thank you for using Fixya.com..... : )

Hi I am trying to connect my sd box via my video player or so it works any where, I dont know where the plugs should go, been trying for two hours. I know it works as my partner had it going earler, but...

I fixed this myself, I pluged the av cord directly from the sd box into the video input, the scart into the tv dvd, the rca into the video from the sd box then from the video rca to the tv rca, works a treat

Suround sound

Hi mich11

Right firstly you will have to check how many inputs you have on your Projector and then also how many inputs you've got and then work from there.

Typically it would be like this :

1.) S-Video cable running from your DVD player to your Projector. S-video - S-video points - both males.

2.) RG59 ( video cable ) running from your sky/satelite decoder to your Projector - once again 2 RCA points - both male.

I'll quickly browse through some of our installation pics and post you a couple.
