Just go to Best Buy and buy the Saturn L2 1999 Harness . then it will match. Harness cost like 20 bucks.
1st STEP
Things to get from BEST BUYor RADIO SHACK.
1. Black electrical tape
2. (Optional) for quality connection Solder & Solder gun
3. GM (General Motors) Antenna Adapters
4. GM 1999 Car Harness
5. GM Saturn L2 1999 Car Kit

STEP 2 = Match the colors of the car harness you just bought to the harness of the radio (DONT PLUG IT INTO THE CAR YET CAUSE YOU MAY SHORT OUT THE POWER WIRE TO GROUND) twist the same color wires together and then tape them so it wont be exposed to get shorted out and damage your radio or blow fuses in the car.

STEP 3= plug in the complete harness to the radio and the car and also plug in the Antenna adapter to the small antenna jack of the car that converts it to a larger jack so you can plug it in the back of the new pioneer radio that has a larger antenna hole. Now test the radio it should work unless you had blown your radio fuse in the car already which is easy to replace.

STEP 4 Unplug everything from the radio and install your CAR KIT. Then slide your radio sleeve in the rectangular hole all the way flush and use a flat head screw driver and bend the tabs of the sleeve(Radio Cage) so that the sleeve wont move.

STEP 5 make sure your harness & antenna is sticking out of the sleeve so you dont have to fish it out later when you have finished mounting the car kit to your car. Put your car dash back together and you will see only a rectangular hole with a harness and antenna adapter sticking out only.

STEP 6 plug in the harness and antenna back into the radio and slide it in halfway only and test the radio again making sure everything works. If it does then move it all the way in till it locks into place. last snap in the face trim ring into place to cover the silver cage lining.

THERE YOU ARE FINISHED

Is there anyone who can answer a question re color codes for matching wires from harness to stereo i have a pioneer stereo and and need to install it in a honda civic need to match its wire colors to...

hoy cr*p. Thats a big question. I'm used to the simple hook up of red = hot wire, black equal ground wire, and white usually goes to the speakers. MOST electronic equipment use red as the "hot wire"...or the wire that is the main electrical wire. If your colors dont match, you might talk to a shop that specializes in installing car stereos. Good luck. thats how they make their money, but depending on the price you may decide not to mess with it yourself. Just label the wires with tape when you find out.

After I pulled the old CD player out of my car the wires end plug dosnt match up to my new Pioneer DEH-11E. Is there a way to make it work or should I take it back.

Hello al_will00,

The color coding of the wires from aftermarket equipment will not match up with vehicle color codes. The new player will work OK when you have matched up the wiring by function. There's 2 ways to do it: 1) Find the color coding of your vehicle wiring and splice/tap into the existing harness; 2) Purchase an aftermarket wiring harness that plug in directly.

The 2nd option is best. It allows you to make all of the connections (usually color for color) sitting at a table or workbench insted of from behind the poorly lighted dash. It also allow you to reinstall the OEM radio if you ever decide to do so. Splicing or tapping will make it more difficult.

I'd visit one of the online retailer like www.crutchfield.com or www.sonicelectronix.com to purchase a wiring harness. You can determine the correct model number from various sources, including the manufacturer, such as Metra here. Just enter your vehicle make, model and year information to see a list that the vehicle.

Hope this helps.

Dont know how to insall it !!!

Purchase the aftermarket wire harness at from a local installation shop. WIres will match color for color to this harness then mate to the factory connector. This could save hours attempting to figure out the factory wire harness.

Radio connection Pioneer vs Subaru Forester

I would like to refer you to a reputable car audio dealer.

If you have NOT yet CUT THE FACTORY HARNESS, DON'T!!!!!!!
Airbags are nothing to take lightly...

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND a wiring harness adapter from a reputable source such as METRA, Scoche, or Pozitive Connections. Every wiring harness adapter changes the colors at the "pioneer side" of the harness to color match the PIONEER RADIO. All you have to do is color match, plug and play.

HOPE I HAVE HELPED.

Got a new deh-6000ub and wire harness for honda accord dont know how to install the harness

You need an installation harness. You can get them at most anyplace that installs car stereos. Once you have the installation harness for your car, you just match up the colros of the wires on it to the same colors of the harness for the Pioneer. Make sure that each wire is insulated from anything by using some electrical tape and make sure they all have good connections. Strip away close to about an inch on each wire and then twist them together and then tape them good. After all the wires have been connected, all you need to do is plug the Pioneer harness into the Pioneer radio and then plug the installation harness into the factory wire harnees connector in the car. If you have any wires that do not match up in color, you can normally leave then not connected to anything, but make sure they are insulalted with electrical tape. Most all the wires should say what they are for. Matching the colors is the easiest way to do this.
Let me know if you need more help. I can always give you a detailed wiring of the Pioneer. I do not have the wiring diagrams for the car though.

Wiring/Installation of Pioneer CD Player

You need to get an installation kit that also has the universal wiring harness to connect to the factory harness in the car. That way you only need to match the wire colors of the Pioneer harness to the wire colors of the universal harness and made good connections and insulate those connections. Then the Pioneer harness plugs into the Pioneer radio and the universal harness plugs into the factory harness in the car.

Let me know if this helps, or if you need more help.

Hi Bdowell,

I usually get my wires to fit the pioneer from Ebay. Several sellers actually offer the connecting wire harness and connector for Pioneers. A lot of the Pioneer models use the exact same wire harness and connector. use a little ingenuity and y search on ebay, you will probably find one.
