Question about DISH Network ViP 612

Skipping, feezing on recorded programs. third dvr. all same

We have had techs out twice. we now have our third dvr. all have same problem. tech said this unit has problems. no solution in sight. not really great answer. someone must know if this can be fixed or not and how. we are not getting a product that delivers recordings we are paying for. it seems to be a "shoot in the dark" approach when it comes to troubleshooting this problem. according to posts i have read, this is not an uncommon problem. last suggestion was to unplug the dvr from a surge protector. this did not solve the issue.

I am very sorry to hear you have continually experienced problems with your VIP 612 DVR receiver, a important question when considering what may be causing issues with the numerous receiver you have had is, are you fully powering off the receiver each & every night? If not I would recommend doing so, by powering off the receiver each night it allows the receiver to receive necessary updates and helps to prevent these types of DVR issues. Perhaps you may want to try this and seeing if it resolves the problem. Additionally, another recommendation I would like to make to hopefully help prevent further frustrations with the DISH Network DVR receiver, would be to delete older recordings you have already watched or may not need anymore, this can also help when trying to prevent & fix DVR problems.
I hope these tips resolve the issue or help to improve the DVR functioning. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

622 rebooting problem

This issue would have to be resolved in home, it is linked to a power issue and your voltage will need to be checked at the outlet your recvr is plugged into, HD DVR's need alot of constant power to operate poperly. the nes time you call about this issue the standard procedure is to send a tech to check voltage.

It is 98 degrees outside, and my AC is only cooling the house to around 84 degrees I am so upset. It is a new unit about 2 years old, and I got a bigger unit than I used to have.  My old unit was...

Sounds like have charge problem. You need aservice tech to check this. Make sure you ask him to check the unit split. Which means the temp. of the air coming into your reurn or filer area and temp of the air at your closest outlet. The difference between these two is the split. Should be between 19 to 23 degrees if charge is right. If this is to low the problem may be a heat strip stuck in or the charge is off. Either way you need a good service tech you trust. Not all service techs are service techs period. Ask for a free estimate on checking your unit. If you put a bigger unit in your house it should be freezing you out. Russ

Calls to tech support do no good

It is your motherboard, since sansa works from a flash, i doubt it could be the flash. if it is still under warranty then I suggest you take it back, if not then send it to my company and we can give you a good deal on a new motherboard to fix your problem. thank you, Connie
