What exactly did you try?
Check these:

  • Fully charged batteries
  • Taking batteries our from the camera and reinserting
  • Other set of batteries
If you did try all of the above without success, the only thing you could do is take the camera to a local electronist, or Kodak dealer for repairs.

Camera turns on then off immediately

Make sure that you are installing a fresh/ full charge battery
Remove the battery
Clean the metal contacts on the battery using a clean cloth

Pls test with an alt. batt.
If you do not have access to a dif. battery.
Pls. take the batt out of the camera. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the batt. If not you will need to order a No power repair.

I am able to transfer images to my computer, but when I try to turn the M893 camera on when it's not connected to my laptop, the screen comes on for a second or two, lens comes out, green light is on and...

It has problem on the lens. Lens doesn't extend when transferring pictures that's why it works. Kodak cameras are designed to automatically shut-off when the lens is struggling to go in or out.

Follow step-by-step solution and repair on www.kodak.com/go/stepbystep if the guide did not resolve the issue proceed processing the camera for repair under the same website if it is still under in-warranty otherwise call Kodak @ 1800-235-6325 extn 1-12-2

My problem is exactly the same as the original poster's.

It may be that there is a setting in the camera that has been changed to make the camera only operate from the computer. I suggest looking around the menu in the camera when it is attached to your computer.

Kodak M893 digital camera won't turn on

get a quote for repairs from a camera shop or junk it
The carry strap is not just for decoration but to place around your neck so that the expensive item doesn't hit the floor if dropped

My Easyshare Kodak m893 lens were bent a little, i straightened it with force.the camera will turn on then off..i've charged it. the lens are straight but stuck and won't retract.

Sorry, but your DIY repair probably made the lens problem worse, and the camera shuts down to prevent further damage. Your camera will require professional repair, and I recommend that you take it to a camera shop (NOT the camera department in a large store) or contact Kodak via their website www.kodak.com to arrange repair. Be sure to get a firm price before you commit to any repairs though. The fix often approaches the price of a new camera, and repairs typically only carry a 30-day warranty.

Screen does not work

hi try to reset ur camera...To do such reset, turn on the camera and hold the menu button down for longer than 5 seconds. A message should hopefully come up on your LCD asking if you want to reset the camera. Select Yes...

Camera does not go on

Lens errors (E18 errors on Canons) are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

The screen on my 1 year old 42 inch Akai plasma tv suddenly went blank although I still have sound. Any clues?

Reset the cable/sat box and tv by turning them off, unplugging them both from the wall outlet, and replugging them after 30 seconds. See if you get pictue back when they get the correct handshake. also, make sure that there are no loose cables going into the TV or into the cable/sat box. You can try using a different type of connecting cord from the cable/sat box to the tv to make sure it is not a bad connecting cord.

What type of cable is connecting your cable/sat box to the TV? Is it HDMI?

Are you using a video game system on the plasma?
