How to correct error code 4 in 10 on Sharp pocket computer pc-1270

I found the answer for the PC1500, and I'm guessing the error codes for the PC1270 will be similar. Here is what the manual says:

This error occurs when there is no DATA corresponding to a READ command, for example:
10 READ X, Y
20 DATA 10
30 END
The display will say, "ERROR 4 IN 10"

The solution is to provide enough DATA to satisfy the READ. For example, change line 20 to read as follows:

20 DATA 10,15

Hope this helps.

Hard disk problem

If you are getting read errors after running a "chkdsk" and a "scandisk" replace the drive. Drives are much cheaper than lost data.

Hard drive errors

If your had drive is getting lost clusters when you run scan disk, it means the hard disk is nearly worn out Whilst scan disk will repair and locl out these bad sectors so data is not written to these areas, the number of bad sectors will increase and it is adiseable to back up your data frequently so you won't lose your data when the hard drive fails completely.
I recommend you replace this hard drive as soon as possible and install Windows on the new hard drive plus the computer's device drivers, your programs and data. You do not want the hard drive failing at an inconvient time.

My Samsung R530 won't boot, just shows blue screen of death on startup, states "A problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damage blah blah blah Unmountable_boot...

So many computer face this blue screen fetal errors on windows.

This error comes usually when there is problem in software or driver compatibility issue with hardware or operating system.
Also this error comes when there is bed indexing unit in hard drive.
You can solve this errors with following 2 methods.
(1)When you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in safe mode.
Then if you are able to enter in safe mode then uninstall driver or software which you installed recently and face this error.
(2)If you are not able to enter in safe mode Then you need to fix error on hard drive. For that you need windows disk or recovery disk.
Boot your computer with that disk
For that when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 "del" key to enter in bios.
Then go to boot menu and set first boot device as your cd or dvd rom.
Then save settings and exit bios.
Insert windows disk in cd /dvd rom.
Then it boot with that disk. Then you get this message "Press any key to boot from cd.."
Then press any key.
Then follow the procedure then enter in recovery console mode then type in prompt "chkdsk /r"
Then type "y"
Then it fix error on hard drive.
Then check if again you are not able to enter in windows then boot again and this time choose "R" option for repair previous windows " then it repairs old windows then it loads again old windows.

When copying it says i/o device error :(

An "input/output" error is an indication that either:

* some data from some part of the W.D. disk cannot be read 100% correctly;

* the data has been correctly read, but the error occurred while writing the data to your 'C:' disk-drive.

Either way, you have a disk-drive that is "dying", and should be replaced, as soon as possible, before _NONE_ of the data on the disk-drive can be accessed.

Check the warranty-status of the disk-drive -- the manufacturer may replace it, at minimal cost to you.

When i try to install the sims 3 File: E:/Chaches/Sunset Valley.objectChache Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check). pops up i cleaned the disc but it didnt help

If 'E:' is your CD/DVD drive, then some of the data could not be _correctly_ read from the disk.

When the data was written, a CRC value was calculated for the data, and that CRC-value was written onto the disk immediately after the data. When the data is read from the disk, the CRC-value also is read from the disk. A "new" CRC-value is calculated from the data that was read, and the "new" CRC-value is checked against the "old" CRC-value. If the two values do not match, then the data retrieved does *NOT* match the data that was written, i.e., you have an "I/O error".

Take the defective CD-ROM back to the retailer, and get it replaced, under warranty.

Lost of Hibernation

his Stop message indicates that the requested page of kernel data from the paging file could not be read into memory. This Stop message is usually caused by a bad block (sector) in a paging file, a virus, a disk controller error, or failing RAM. In rare cases, it is caused when nonpaged pool resources run out. It is also caused by defective hardware.
User Action:
If the I/O status is C0000185 and the paging file is on a SCSI disk, the disk cabling and SCSI termination should be checked for problems. Check your computer for viruses, using any up-to-date, commercial virus scanning software that examines the Master Boot Record of the hard disk. An I/O status code of 0xC000009C or 0xC000016A normally indicates the data cannot be read from the disk due to a bad block (sector). If you can restart the system after the error, Autochk runs automatically and attempts to map out the bad sector. If Autochk does not scan the hard disk for errors, manually launch the disk scanner. Run Chkdsk /f /r on the system partition. Restart the system before the disk scan begins. If you cannot start the system due to the error, use the Recovery Console and run Chkdsk /r . Caution: If your system partition is formatted with the FAT file system, the long file names used by Windows 2000 can be damaged if Scandisk or another MS-DOSbased hard disk tool is used to verify the integrity of your hard disk from an MS-DOS prompt. (An MS-DOS prompt is typically derived from an MS-DOS startup disk or from starting MS-DOS on a multiboot system.) Always use the Windows 2000 version of Chkdsk on Windows 2000 disks. Another common cause of this Stop message is failing RAM. Run hardware diagnostics supplied by the system manufacturer, especially the memory scanner. For details on these procedures, see the owners manual for your computer. Check that all network adapters in the computer are properly seated. Use an ink eraser or an electrical contact treatment, available at electronics supply stores, to ensure network adapter contacts are clean. Check the System Log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help pinpoint the device causing the error. Disabling memory caching of the BIOS might also resolve it. Finally, if all the above steps fail to resolve the error, take the system motherboard to a repair facility for diagnostic testing. A crack, a scratched trace, or a defective component on the motherboard can also cause this error. For more troubleshooting information about this Stop message, refer to the Microsoft Knowledge Base at http://support.microsoft.com/support.
