No sound coming from my speakers

Hooked every thing up right and the unit has power and does all the functions just no sound at all. And the speakers worked with the factory stereo unit.

Possible scenerio's with the little info you gave.

1.You have a bad speaker thats blown or the wires are touching the chassis of your car.

2. You have a factory amp and you need to connect the blue wire to the amp turn on wire. And if it still doesnt work then you have to rewire it complete or maybe have to get a special car amplifier compatible harness so your aftermarket works with your amplified system in your car.

3. In certain Ford cars they crisscrossed the back speaker wires. To test this unplug your harness from the radio. VERY IMPORTANT( splice these colors of wires in the middle enough so you can use a 9volt small rectangular battery to make the speakers you want to test pop(harmless))
1. green = back left + speaker
2. green/black = back left - speaker
3. purple = back right + speaker
4. purple/black = back right - speaker

test green speaker wires first touch battery to the + and - and the speaker should pop if not you have already discovered the problem. Know this time pop the green + and the purple/black - on the 9volt battery if the speakers pop you have found the solution.

Just criss cross the the negatives of the back speakers. From the radio harness end attach green to green, purple to purple, green/black to purple/black and last purple/black to green/black. And all your speakers should work again.

Dont ask me why late Ford Models crisscrossed their speaker wires. They just did.

No sound is coming out

Look for a button on the unit or remote for turning speakers on end off, Or when you go into the unit menu, Watch with the functions if it stays something about the speakers, Turnig them on or off, If you don,t come across any of this stuff, Get a manual for it, End see if you can find any thing about it in the manual, In the trouble shooting (Section) If you don,t have a manual for it, Try manuals online.com

Hello, My logitech x-230 2.1 speaker system is not producing any sound. The power light comes on but no sound at all comes from any speaker. Also, it is not the computers fault because I have used it with...

If there is an ON/OFF switch at the back of your 2.1 speakers, then switch it on. Or is the VOLUME control set at 0? Turn it up a bit.

Or, are the left & right speakers properly hooked to the subwoofer unit?
Please check.

the speakers have a neg/positive wire make sure you hooked them up right easiest thing to do is hook up the power and start with two speaker wires once you have sound coming from a speaker label them with masking tape .

UNIT HAS ALL POWER FUNCTIONS BUT OUTPUTS NO SOUND. ANY SUGGESTIONS. HAVE CHECKED THE SPEAKERS HOOKED TO ANOTHER UNIT SO I KNOW SPEAKERS ARE OK. MY SON IS BRAIN DAMAGED AND NEEDS TO HAVE SOMETHING TO LISTEN...

This comes to mind:
Did you perhaps connect the rca jacks to the record in instead of the play out?
Maybe the rca cable is not plugged in at all on either the receiver end or tape deck end.
Have you tried using a different rca cable?
Did you select the right input on the receiver?
You may try using a different input on the receiver.

I know these sound obvious, but they may fix the problem.

Have a in dash jvc kd-sx750 cds player that won't power on

if you had the speakers hooked up wrong it would just make a crackling sound when it rubs on a surface. if your vehicle has a factory built in amplifier somewhere you may have to hook up the remote turn on wire to the wiring harness to tell it to turn on.
also make sure your illumination and dimmer wire are hooked up correctly if it doesnt display any images on the screen. and if for some reason you think its shutting off because of crossed wires maybe check the ground the batt and the ignition wire ,or the red black and yellow wires. usually when something major like those three wires get crossed it blows fuses in the car taillamp fuse stereo batt fuse ect. check all those .try resetting the deck of the car battery thats all i can think of now.

Kenwood kdc x915 cd player

Hi there JT,

An Amp makes existing sound louder. If you aren't getting sound now, there's a problem.

From your description, it sounds like your stereo is going through all the motions, it looks and acts like it is functioning. Just no sound.

If that is wrong, let me know.

When you turn it on, do you hear anything from the speakers? White noise, a click, anything, any indication that they are hooked to any kind of power supply?

Let's do the basics (easiest) first:
  • Mute is off
  • Balance and Fader centered
  • Volume up
  • CD in and playing
Still nothing? OK.
  • I need you to access the back of the stereo. (Sorry)
  • Yellow and red are power. Black is ground. The unit works so these are ok. Blue is to turn on a remote device like an amp. There may be an orange, ignore.
  • There are four sets of wire for the speakers. Colors are White, Gray, Purple and Green. One of each set is solid colored, the other has a stripe.
  • White and gray are front
  • Purple and green are back. Same page?
  • These are what your speakers should be hooked to. One set for each speaker. Are they?
  • Eyeball the connects, look for shorts, disconnects, etc.
  • Get a speaker and test it right there behind the stereo on one set after another. Anything? If so, you have a problem in the wiring not the stereo
That's enough for now. I'd hate to write a book and have you solve the thing in chapter one. Get back to me with the answers and results. Those results will decide the next course of action (Unless of course it's fixed by then, in which case let me know with a nice FixYa rating).

No sound from stereo

If you can hear a hiss then the spkrs and amp are OK. It sounds like you're not on whichever source you're wanting to hear or it is on mute. Make sure ther is no function enabled that turns the sound off or over-rides it (like a tape monitor or AUX in...).
