Hi,
I only have one of these models, so I don't have a lot of experience. It failed after 6 months of use hard use and then died. I checked out the power supply and found that the top of two of the electrolytic capacitors bulged up, indicating that it had failed. The tops should be flat. I was never able to find the specs for these parts but I replaced them and the unit has work for over a year now. It was important to replace the capacitors with not only the same capacitance and voltage but also one with a low ESR.
That was a simplified explanation of what I did to resolve a prolbem found in only one unit. So this may not be the answer to your problem. And this may be more than you care to get involved in.
HELLO
This comes as no surprise to me at all! I have had loads of these pieces of junk through my hands in the last 2-3 years and I can tell you now that it will be a problematic power supply.
Do you require spares for this unit? FORGET IT! These things are not designed to be repaired, they were built in China to a price and Cyberhome do not exist anymore.
Do yourself a favour and bin it! There are much better and more reliable DVD recorders out there!
GOOD LUCK TO YOU!
