Tuesday I dropped my Motorola Rival in to a thing of water on my phone, it was in it's case. I took the back off and the battery out and placed the rest of the phone in rice. It seemed to work fine in the morning, but about four hours later the almost fully charged battery died. So I charged it again, it went down one bar for charing but was fine until I turned it off for the night. The next morning it wouldn't turn on, battery dead, it's currently charging again. Is the battery toast? Or could there be a chance that there's some particles of the rice still left in the back of the phone?

I dropped my phone in juice (lemon-aid) it was glitching and so I took the battery out and put it in rice over night then took a air conpresser to it and put it bake in rice I jus now put rubbing alcohol...

Ok, keep it in the rice and also put teh phone itself into the rice for three or so days, then you may need a new battery if it got wet, but it should work fine

Water damage

I am sorry but whenever any modern day electronic equipment is exposed to water, especially if it was on. Then it will be a total loss. You see there is an instantaneous, chemical reaction, as soon as the water and the electronics mix. Current tracks, where it is NOT meant to be, and causes catastrophic damage, and no amount of "Drying out" will ever do anything, as the damage has already been done. You will have to get a new phone, it is as simple as that sorry.

Motorola has a freakin black screen!!!!

It's to do with the battery connection... clean the metal contact with something dry, like a cotton bud..then put the battery back in firmly, and make sure the cover is clicked back correctly...

My phone fell into the toilet and I need to fix it

First thing is to ALWAYS remove the battery to prevent electrolysis.

Clean with de-ionized water (distilled) with battery removed.

LET dry thoroughly for a day or more before putting battery back in for trial.

Do not heat the unit to dry more than placing over a furnace register for slow gentle drying.

My motorola rival A455 cell phone got droped in water

try this :
This works on most mini electronic devices like cellular phones and degital cameras etc .

it sounds crazy .

Remove the back (or Cover ) of the phone( or Camera ), battery, and SIM if your phone ( or Device ) uses one , DIRECTLY
.

Then, with a q-tip (or something similar), dab the connection points (shiny, goldish) on the battery, SIM, and phone. This should aid in drying.

Finally, place all contents in a bag of uncooked rice (separately, do not put back together just yet). it sounds crazy , but it draws the moisture out.

It normally is working after just 7-8 hours, but I would wait 12 hours or even 24 hours before attempting to use (just to be sure).

beware the water damage, despite being dry now, will void any warranties. Also, the phone's hardware is now weakened and if you drop it, the green mother board and circuitry could shatter - so be more careful.

This does work on electronic devices aside from phones as well. Simply tailor it to your device. If you do not have a SIM (Verizon phones, cameras, all others), remove only the battery. If you have an iPhone/iPod or GPS and cannot remove the battery, simply make sure it is all the way off, then put it in the rice bag. All electronic devices react the same to the rice trick.

My motorola rival phone is doing the same thing! White out!

my phone did the same thing. take it to the store where you got it and they will give you a new one. apparently its happened before with the motorola rivals, something comes loose inside the phone. when you bring it to the store they should give you a new phone for free. but im pretty pissed off, because when i got my new one they transfer only the contacts. im pretty mad that all my pictures, videos, and ring tones/sounds are gone just because of a problem motorola casued.. not me.

Maybe rzr v3m; black screen after dropping phonein water

you can take the battery and the back off the device and place in completely submerged in a bag of white rice and leave it in there for 1 to 2 days this will help absorb the moisture, this should fix it if the water did not damage the circut boards if the water damaged the circut boards then the device is fried
