Units flashes
Here's my LMS 332c circuit board. I'm showing where the power source is on the lower right, and where I believe the first two ribbon cables that lead to the power switch on the front panel (upper left). Can anyone tell me how to disable the internal power switch and where? I want to install external switch and bypass the internal. I can solder and not afraid to try since this unit is out of warranty and is not functional as is with powering on/off and screen flashing randomly. Thanks!
No feedback yet on how to bypass the internal power switch but it does seem like the hard reset helps. Hold down Zoom In + Out while powering up. I've still had the problem though after hard resets in the past so not thinking it's a permanent fix.
A day later and the unit has gone back to the same old power issue with screen cycling through bright to dim so hard reset is very temporary at best. Hoping jjanssen7 is still around and can provide some details on how to bypass the internal power switch. Thanks! -Andy
I did solve this buy short circuiting the first two wires in the ribbon cable. I simply jammed a small wire as a jumper where wire 1 & 2 of the ribbon cable are plugged in. I thin wired an external manual power toggle switch which works great. but since Lowrance wouldn\'t honor the repair any more I wanted to share with others how I got my originally $800 unit working again.

Power switch is stuck on. I had htis exact problem. Switch needs to be disabled internally, and an external (weatherproof) switch installed.
Hello vinrocof - Please try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn the unit back on. Try setting the time and if it proves to be ineffective, the unit may possibly have a faulty EOC, defective wiring harness or damaged cord. I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.
