Presario 2700 laptop silly question

I was given a presario 2700 laptop with a spare battery. I was told that the battery goes where the cd rom drive is currently. I did not get a manual so therefore do not know how to take out the CD rom drive to put in the battery. Is there a button or do i just pull it out? I don't want to break it by just pulling.

Compaq presario 2100 laptop, starts to run, then goes to black screen with start in safe mode etc, then a blue box appears, gone before you are able to read anything that it says, then laptop restarts...

Check the mounting screws on the cd burner, yes you have to remove the keyboard and speakers, and check the two visible mounting scews.....I rescently bought a used presario and discovered the yo-yo didn't mount the cd rom properly(no screws)...The screen you saw flashed is the BIOS,also check fitment of all plug in type accessories......
