Your TV is so-called V-36 chassis.
First shut off TV and unplug it from the wall.
On the back of the TV on the right hand side if look from behind you can locate plastic lamp cover that is removable. Behind the cover you will see lamp cartridge that held in place by screws that you have to loose using screwdriver. Remove lamp assembly and install the new one. Make sure that cartridge is all way in, you have to feel connection plug to be slide-in all the way. Tighten up screws but not too hard.
Reinstall lamp cover. Plug TV into the wall and wait for green LED light to stop blinking. Turn TV set on. It should display message "Power loss, did you replace the lamp?" You hit "enter" on your original Mitsubishi (not the cable box or Satellite box) remote control and this is it.
Regards.

SOURCE: where can I buy and how much is a light engine for

Mitsubishi parts can be purchased at authorized service centers for around $450. Other distributors may carry Mits but the price will be higher. Part number is 938P019010. We are also a Mits authorized center. Thx

I installed new lamp comes on then goes off and I hear a buzzing sound. Could it be that it's not installed properly for get light to come on. I had to use different screws because the new lamp didn't

How do you know the solution is "simple"? No always is simple. Bussing is high voltage missing. Like is bad conection to the lamp. Check conections of it.There is some bad about the conections of lamp. I guess.

Installed new lamp but her static sounds wd-73733 and still no picture

I would venture to guess the bulb figment is your issue and the electrical sound is most likely arching (very bad). The cheap replacements won't last. I bought a sylvania build and matched the model number with the one from inside the old bulb housing. Changing out the bulb from the casing is really easy so just return the one you bought and buy the corresponding bul without the case.

My mitsubishi wd 73733 just made a popping sound and went off.when i tried to turn it back on its making noises with no picture goes from a green light to blinking red on lamp inicator do i need a bulb or...

You can actually go with just buying a bulb. I have seen many cases where televisions stopped displaying a picture due to a worn out bulb. The noise is also from the weak bulb.

Want does yellow light mean

If I'm not mistaking I believe Mitsubishi shows the yellow light to indicate new bulbs needed and or overheating. Most common is overheat, but may actually be a bulb replacement required.

TV will not power on, strange arcing and poping noise from rear

Even though the Lamp looks good it does not mean that it is. The only way to know is to relace it. If you have already replaced it with a Mitsubishi Lamp Assy. then the Ballast board would probably be the cause.
Hope this helps,
