I have a Candy GOU218 when I push the start button it does start the dryer but as soon as I release my finger from the button it stops, It started doing it around a week ago so I had to push and hold

There are push to start circuits used for motors and then there are holding circuits that keep the unit running. This way the dryer stops if the circuit is open due to high temperature or end of the cycle. It seems as if the holding circuit (could be a rotary switch that stays closed while the dryer is running) or a holding circuit relay (stays closed until circuit is broken by the control) has failed.

My candy cdc266 blows my main fusebox as soon as I turn the switch on

Hi,
Do you have it wired correctly? did it just start to do this?
Look for a wire that is rubbing against metal...look and see if a wire is broke in you heating element....if it is electric heat...

there is obviously a dead short somewhere and you will need to explore til you find it...if you know how to use and ohm meter properly it will help...
