Model 707 Lakewood portable heater stopped working

My experience with Lasko heaters is with the small portable ceramic types. On mine there are two knobs. One is the "Power"; the fan symbol is for fan only, then (I) Low Power and (II) High Power 1500 watts. The other know is the thermostat from (-) to (+). Set the thermostat towards (+) until the temp in the room is the way you want it. Then turn the thermostat know towards (-) until the unit shuts off. This is now the temperature setting and the heater will cycle on and off to this setting. Hope this helps.

Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

Often after a repair has been made, the air conditioner will take hours to readjust back to normal. When the system has been off for to long, not only does the heat in the house rise, but so does the humidity, which has to be pulled out of the air first before it really starts dropping in temp. You could have a low charge on refrigerant, dirty filters, etc. More than once I have ran into things that were just coincidence after a repair that showed up. Since you just replaced the capacitor, I would make sure the fan motor is turning in the right direction and there is nice air flow coming out of the condenser, some times if one wire is wrong, it can cause it to spin backwards, which will work, but just barely. The air needs to be pulled through the coils, not pushed. Hope this helps!

If your pilot light is lit then I would first check your thermostat. Make sure it is on heat setting and fan is on auto, turn stat up to where it should be calling for heat. If you don't get burner to light remove front cover from thermostat and see if it has a mercury switch, if it does move temperature selector up and down and see if you can see a spark in mercury switch vial. If y ou cannot see a spark remove screws that attach t-stat to base.Remove carefully and disconnect wires that go to r and w terminals on stat base. Temporarily connect these two wires together. This should make burner light if you have power to thermostat. If burner does light disconnect wires and replace thermostat. Also if you have a volt meter check across these two wires and see if you have power there. Should be around 24 volts a.c. If your thermostat has a fan on setting try that. If fan runs you know you have power to furnace The gas valve needs 24 volts to operate and inside the electric control box in furnace there is a transformer to step down 110-120 supply voltage to 24 volts. If transformer is working you should be able to hear a low buzz or humming sound. You can also check across gas valve terminals when t-stat is set for heat, you should read about 24 volts. If you have 24 volts to gas valve and it is not opening then you need to replace gas valve. The main purpose of the limit switches is to turn blower on when temperature in heat exchanger reaches fan on temp,shut off blower after burner shuts off and heat in heat exchanger reaches fan off temperature, and limit if temperature exceedes set point without blower coming on. the reason he told you not to cycle the power is because some where there is a flashing light that he can decode and tell him where to start looking for the problem. Call him next it happens and don't touch the power or the stat until he gets to see the unit.

The amber light is the error light on a Dell. It can mean a few things. 1. RAM has went bad, not properly seated. 2. Video card has went bad or come unseated. 3. Power supply is not working properly; or 4. Motherboard has went bad. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer.

Had similar problem, continuous fan, turn off power, then won't start up. Replaced thermostat, no change. The main controller board in the furnace went bad. What was weird was that it happened in the summer, while the heat was turned off. One day I noticed that the fan was running. The thermostat was in the off position, and I had to shut off power to the furnace to make it stop. I forgot about it till heating season came along and it wouldn't start up. The preliminary blower would start, the gas would click on, it would light, then quit. After tracing and checking the various safety switches, etc. it became apparrent the main board was bad. I found one on ebay, replaced it, [a simple job, unplug, a few screws, replug] and it's been working fine..good luck, John

Relay for the compressor may be stuck ( Contacts welded) both the fan and the compressor should operate at the same time. Have the relay(s) checked and possibly replaced.
