Hi, my name is Ben. I wouldn't call this a difficult repair, but it is time consuming. You may need a special tool to help you remove the water pump pulley.
Remove the air intake duct, remove the upper radiator shroud, remove the fan assembly, loosen the bolts on the water pump pulley a few turns before removing the serpentine belt, then remove the serpentine belt, now remove the water pump pulley, if it's a V-8 remove the lower radiator hose and thermostat housing, unbolt the water pump, if it's tight lightly tap it with a RUBBER mallet. Important, clean the gasket surfaces very well. apply a thin coat of RTV on both gasket surfaces and install a new gasket. On V-6 engines use a small amount of the RTV on the bolt threads. The rest in the reverse of removal. Once completed, refill with coolant and check for leaks, bring the engine to notmal operating temperature and turn the heat on high
Continued, heat on high let the engine warm up enough to open the thermostat
Then refill with coolant. Here is one of my "old school tips. The new gasket tends to slip, to help keep it in place during installation, get some thin sewing thread and tie it on through the bolt holes and around the gasket. If you need any other information, just ask, I'll be happy to help. Good luck with your repair.
