My TEAC DR-H300 HDMI is reading discs intermitently, i.e. sometimes it does, most times it doesn't. Once I insert the disc and close the tray it stays with the message LOAD and nothing else happens. Could it be that it needs to be re-booted?

The usual cause of this is the optical disk itself. Either the media has defects that your player doesn't like, or the codec needed to 'read' the disk is missing or unknown. Try playing a standard DVD from the music store. If that plays ok, you may need to upgrade your firmware. New firmware should be available from the maker's web site.

I have a similar problem unrelated to the disc... my unit gave up reading dvds entirely after 2 years, and was reading cds sporadically, I had the cd/dvd mechanism replaced, and the replaced unit gave out after about 6 months, with the exact same problem.

My Teac MD-H300 minidisc player will not read discs, comes up no disc

Doe the deck play LP discs or only SP discs?
My impression is that it does not support MDLP - which I suspect is your problem.
Does it play discs recorded on that machine?
Let me know if that solves it. If not, I have other thoughts.

I have a teac MD-H300 minidisc player that doesn't read discs

That's an old machine from 2001. Buy a working machine on eBay or Craigslist.

Teac md-h300

There is no unit with the name you gave.

Does the unit itself say MDLP on it? If it doesn't, theres a good chance it doesn't support the LP modes and will only playback/recor unit only plays in SP or MONO.

My Teac DR-H300 will not open the dvd drawer anymore. It looks like the magnet won't release on the drawer. Can anyone tip me what to do?

I solved this by holding the power button down for 5-10 seconds. After a reset the drawer opened as normal.

Cannor Read DVDs

I have a similar issue to you, except that my dvd drive will only recognize a disc if I have booted up into windows with it in the tray...once in windows it will still think it has the first disc in no matter what disc i insert. If i boot up with no disc then it will never read it unless I follow the steps below.

A solution I found by pure frustration and trying all sorts of things is to eject the DVD tray and leave it opened, then right click on the dvd drive in 'my computer' and select the 'hardware' tab...then select the drive and click 'properties'.
A new window should open. Select 'volumes' and click 'populate'. Now close the window and insert the disc you wish to read, close the tray and repeat this process. Windows should now recognize the disc you inserted

Alot of trouble I know, but it works for me. Hope this helps.

TEAC DH 300 can't get HDMI to work, something to do with " all" settings.

I have the same problem. I have connected it to Philips TV, but there is no signal. I cannot even enter setup on Teac. The SETUP button is not simply working. Can anybody help? Please!

Disk format

1) Turn on machine
2) Open Tray
3) With tray still open hold the reset until the tray closes.
4) Tap the reset once.
if there is a format disc error, it says "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 format disc." It is accompanied by a sound similar to the browser, but with a more tense noise. This is caused by a disc being so badly scratched that it completely fails to recognise the format, or if there is a problem with the laser. Auto-Diagnosis (PlayStation 2 system) 1. Turn on the system without a disc inside. 2. Once at the Main Menu, press the triangle button to enter the Version Information Screen. 3. Highlight the "Console" option, and then press the triangle button again. 4. Next, press the X button, highlight "On", and then press the X button once more. 5. Now press the circle button twice to return to the Main Menu. 6. Press the eject button on the front of the console, and insert a disc. 7. Now close the disc tray, but DO NOT reset the system. 8. Highlight the Browser option from the Main Menu, and then press the X button. 9. In the Browser, an icon of the disc should appear on the screen. Highlight this icon, and then press the X button to read the disc. 10. If the auto-diagnosis is successful, the disc should load properly at this point.NOTE: The auto-diagnosis feature will return to "Off" the next time a disc is inserted.
