You can get it to scan.. only in the computer where it is locally connected. Scan will not be available for sharing in the network.

On the computer where it is locally connected, use the scan option in the Control Panel if the Scan buttons in printer is not working.

Yes, you may need to clear the print queue by restarting it and then try printing again. Its like rebooting your computer. Go to control panel>administrative tools>then Services. In Services, you'll see a list of programs, scroll down to Print Spooler then right click on it and choose restart or stop then restart. This will clear your print queue. Then try printing again. If that did not clear it and allow you to print, then let me know and we'll try another way. Pls rate this solution.

You have to connect the mfc directly to a USB port of your computer. DO NOT use a hub.

The mfc uses the XP buil-in scan driver.

Did you install the whole mfl-pro suite? Use paperport to do scanning from your pc.
