Is the video a few seconds faster than the sound. Like you'll see a mouth talking then hear it a second or two later?

Can record on DVD disc will not play on DVD player

Make sure the materials you're trying to record onto the DVD
is not Copyrighted. Try to record a normal TV program onto your
VHS, transfer it to your DVD and then play it. See if that will
work. A VHS movie is usually Copyrighted and Protected by
Macrovision. The picture output can be displayed on a TV set
for viewing but is scrambled black to a DVD Recorder.

I've got some rare 80s movies on VHS that are not available on DVD. I want to transfer these movies to DVD, but my VCR/DVD combo unit will not allow me to burn a copy-protected VHS movie. Is there any way...

as i recall VHS cassettes have a hole on front (where is the label with name of movie ) which disables re-recording over original movie. if that isn`t the problem, you can try with connecting your VCR to PC inputing audio and video cable to PC. requirements for this recording from VCR to PC is that PC has graphic card with audio-video input.

I am trying to record from vhs to dvd and I start the movie on vhs, push record on the dvd and then the tv screen goes black so I am getting recordings of black. You can see that something has been burned...

If you are trying to record a store bought vhs movie to dvd, there is a copy guard that is imprinted on the tape making it impossible to transfer the movie to disc effectively, on top that there probably a built in copy guard restriction in the machine making it even more difficult.

Maybe it is due to your awful video convert tool.
I recommend you have a trial of Video Download Studio,
The program can help you convert video to audio with high quality and fast speed.
Have a look from http://www.downloadvideos-convert.com/download-videos-music
Hope it can help you more or less!

I dont really know whats wrong with it when ii try to get it to copy a vhs to advd it wont work?

I don't know what recorder machine you have or what your hooking up to do your transferring. You cant convert VHS movie to DVD by plugging in RCA jacks from VHS player to DVD recorder. DVD reads digital and VHS does not because it reads analog and out put analog. you have to covert VHS movie into digital in order to transfer to DVD. There is a program you can buy call Roxio Easy. great stuff, cost 59.00 buck for your desk top computer, everything you need is there to transfer VHS to DVD...hope that help some, good luck.

Windows Vista Movie Maker

The file you saved just tells your computer where to get the picture files and sound files on the slower computer. You need to copy those files also. The program should ask you where you saved the picture and sound files on the faster computer.

Does this burn dvds of vhs movies

A CD has less than a quarter of the data capacity of a dvd and so a video CD is only suitable for short films unless the movie is converted into another format; Ogg or Mp4 for instance. In such a format a CD will hold a movie but often the quality is poor and disappointing.

If you try and record a video with copygaurd it will only record a tiny section. If you press stop or return for 3 seconds you will cancel the recording, try pressing the pause button you edit out adverts, i have not tried this yet but it might work.
