The lid switch cuts off power to the washer and will cause the washer to stop and not to start at all when it fails or when the lid switch strike breaks. Check the lid switch strike located on the middle right side of the lid. Replace the lids witch strike if it is broken with part number 3950298.

Push and hold the lid switch, using a screwdriver, through the hole on the right side recess of the top cover and start the washer. The lid switch actually clicks when activated.

Check the continuity of the lid switch when activated if the washer still doesn't start when the lid switch is pushed and held. Disconnect power to the washer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Remove the screws at the front bottom corners of the console then slightly pull the console forward to clear the console tabs from the slots on the cabinet, and then flip the console to the rear of the washer.

Disconnect the wiring harness connecting the timer to the lid switch wiring harness connector on the cabinet then using an ohmmeter, check the continuity of the lid switch while it is being pushed. Set the ohmmeter to XR1 then touch the test leads to the right and left terminals of the lid switch connector. Replace the lid switch when the resistance reads open.

Rocks and bounces during spin cycles

You don't state what type and model of washer you have but following is the Whirlpool service manual for top load direct drive washers.

Check the sections on the base and suspension springs and pads.

If one or more of these is not connected, or the pads are damaged, the washer will vibrate during the spin mode.

Which is better a top loader or front loader washing machine?

Front Loading Washing Machine: Fully automatic.
1. Better washing than toploading as technologically proofed.
2. No extra effort except putting cloths and detergent inside.
3. No need to observe in between while washing. Start and forgot. You can go market and come back.
4. No issue if electricity or water went out during washing.
4. Take more water compare to toploading semi-automatic.
5. You can not open it once it started.

Top Loading Washing Machine: Semi
1. Save water and detergent.
2. Need extra effort to put the cloth from one box to another.

Cabrio he toploader leaking on towel/sheet cycle only

It is possible that the dispenser is leaking. It is typically the left front dispenser, you may notice a puddle on the left side. ???
