Try this..turn it off, unplug it for a min or two, then plug it back in. THEN...if the power stays off...hit the eject/open/close button on the panel.

Sometimes this activates the eject mode without turning on the unit. IF NOT, try the remote eject without turning on the unit.

Error 0a-0224-0000

Dear Vincent,

The 0A-0224-0000 is a "File Copy Failed" error. It means that either the computer was not able to read from the CD/DVD or it finished reading from one CD/DVD and was expecting to read data from the next one (when you have two or more recovery CDs/DVDs). If you have more than one recovery CD/DVD, as soon as you see the CD/DVD reader LED (light) stop flashing, eject the CD and insert the next one in the sequence, doing so till all recovery CDs/DVDs have been read.

If you cannot eject the DVDs by pressing the eject button (some DVD writers only allow you to eject the disc after finishing the whole operation) you will have to straighten up a paper clip and insert it in the small hole close to the eject button to force it open and change the CD or DVD (do a Google search for "how to open a CD or DVD drive with a paperclip, in order to better understand how to do it)".

Hope this helps!

Acer aspire dvd wont open with eject button

Whether you use your DVD drive to install software, make backups of your personal files or watch movies, having that drive onboard makes your computer more useful and more versatile.

While DVD drives function normally most of the time, sometimes a DVD will become stuck in the drive, and the tray will refuse to open.

Knowing what steps to take to resolve the situation allows you to start enjoying the advantages of the DVD drive again.

Log on to your computer and click the "Start" button. Choose "Shut down" from the menu and then choose "Restart." Wait for the computer to restart, then press the eject button repeatedly.

Remove the DVD if the drive pops out.

Since there is no hole skip this and go to cleaning the lens.
Shine a flashlight on the DVD tray and locate the small hole near the eject button.

This is the bypass hole and it allows you to eject a DVD when it becomes stuck.

Insert an unbent paper clip into the hole and push it in until you hear the DVD begin to spin. Push the paper clip in until the drive pops out.

Remove the DVD and insert another one.

Use the bypass hole again if the new DVD becomes stuck.

If the new DVD sticks as well, you need to clean the laser lens on the DVD drive.

Insert a laser lens cleaning DVD and close the tray.

Run the laser lens cleaning program at least three or four times to make sure the lens receives a thorough cleaning.

Restart your computer and insert a DVD to test the unit.

My DVD 3005 is locked on a DVD do not know how it happened but obivously I have pushed the wrong button is there a common decode number I can use, I am unable to locate the manual for the player. Regards

I'm not sure whether this will work. Can you locate a small hole under the disc inserting outlet of your DVD player. If yes, push the eject button and insert a small pin well into the hole. The DVD struck in may come out in a few seconds.

Can't get a dvd to eject from from a Lexus cd player

basically just carefully insert another CD into the slot, but only about 1 to 2 inches of the disk and keep jiggling the disk around and pressing the eject button.

This was a suggestion for the lexus owners club wed site.
give it a try and if it doesnt work let me know and I will try to find something that does.

Phillips DVD+RW burner on Dell computer won't eject

You will find a small hole on the face of the drive. This is the manual eject mechanism. Insert any wire-like object (a properly sized size paper clip works real well) and push until the disk ejects.

Note: Many times the mechanism is recessed quite far behind the face plate, so make sure the object you use is long enough (again, paper clip).
