We have a Whirlpool LSN1000PQ3. What would cause my washer not to do a final high speed spin? Sometimes it makes the sound like its spinning, but its just sitting there. I can manually (stick my hand in it and push it to start it off), but then it still leaves the clothes wet, because it doesn't go fast enough.

It seems that the automatic spin clutch is slipping so the only thing you can do is consult the whirlpool engineer as its a one off machine for specialised spares only the very experienced people can repair eric

SOURCE: Whirlpool washer does not Spin fast

Is the drain hose blocked?

I had a wp washer and after moving into a new house we had a similar problem. I would come home from work drag the washer away from the wall, take it all apart and it would spin properly.

I'd button it all up and put it back in place and the next week she would complain again. When I was out of town she called the repair man. He came and cut 4" off the drain hose and the machine ran for another 10 years until the trany packed it in.

I guess the back pressure on the pump was restricting the transmission from spinning up to speed.

Final high speed spin very noisey

Something is causing the drum to be way out of balance. Does it bang and make noise when it's spinning empty? Probably not. Is something stuck on the side (inside of course) of the drum, causing it to shake when spinning? If not, a spring or shock absorber (connecting drum to sides, bottom or top of machine) has broken or come loose.

Kindly provide few details :-

2.How old the washer is?
3. Is it banging only at high speed or even on slow speed?
4. Is it only during the final spin or all the time during spin?

The machine goes crazy when it's on the extended spin (fast spin). If I set it to "gentle spin, would it disengage the fast spin? Whirlpool didn't know the answer!

Even with a good level machine these are very heavy units containing 3 concrete weights. The floor is a direct contributor to vibration and yes it;s worse on the Ex spin with a higher spin speed. If it's on a wood floor even in a new home that can cause this issue. One way to make sure the machine is ok is to put it on a concrete floor, level it and hit the high speed spin with a wet load. Not a easy thing to do but one way to confirm it.

Even a normal spin is enough spin speed to extract enough water. Stick with that!

Washer has spin problem

Sounds like there is a problem with the clutch , they go out often on whirlpool washers and are not too much money. its located right above the trans. and you must pull everything out of the bottom.

Final spin cycle

Lots of possibilities to check out before considering a problem with the machine: Is the load unsorted, too big or off balance? Drain restricted or too high? Oversudsed? Water draining completely out before going into spin?
