Kenmore Master Flame Grill

I just moved into a new home and the previous owner left a Kenmore Flame Master gas grill hooked up on the deck. I took a quick look at it and am not able to get the grill to ignite.

    There isn't a shutoff valve, it's possible the grill may not have worked for a while and the previous owner just didn't tell me about it. I guess at worst I can use it as a charcoal grill...

Hello,
Burner will not light:
Here is a couple things you can check:

1. Gas injector not insert in venturi tube.
2. Clogged gas injector
3. Obstruction in gas line.
4.Spider webs in venturi tubes.
5. Misalignment Of collector box and burner.
6.Dead Battery.
7.Check hose to make sure it is not kinked
8.Check Hose to make sure it wasn't chewed by squirrles
9. If it is LP gas, Could be out of gas.

Other Issues:
Could be the way the grill was turned on and off, that also can be an issues. In your manual it will tell you how to do it proper, this could make it not light or have a low flame. If there is not hing in your manual, I will be happy to assist you.

WOA...compressed propane is not something to mess around with..I would go back to the Home Depot and talk to the store manager,,(take your receipt and all other paper work for proof), ask him who to see about your issue.. tell him you are afraid to use your NEW grill.(Start at the top!).. you spent good $$$$ and you deserve an answer..or a new grill..

Side burner lights but not main burner on gas grill
If you smell gas, don't attempt to light the burner. Instead, turn the gas off and inspect the fuel tank, lines and burners once the smell of has has cleared. Always grill where you have adequate ventilation and perform all repairs only after the grill has fully cooled from use.

The new tanks have a safety feature, if the connector is cracked and there is low pressure it will shut off the gas flow from the tank.
Check the connector at the tank, I had a cracked plastic one.

Flame Shooting out the front
You clearly have a gas leak. Inspect the suspect area for loose connections like the gas delivery pipe to the burner assembly. Try to reconnect them. If there is a hole in it you can use some muffler repair adhesive but I would just get a new part. Often the company will send you free parts as a good gesture to assure encourage repeat business. owners manual can be gotten through the internet- Sears.com find parts,type in model# of item, select manual sounds like valves are clogged- propaine and natural gasses are dirty gasses-no filter, it comes up out of ground,through dirty pipes, all the way to peoples homes- and thats why they have to replace valves on hot water tanks/furnuces........

Charbroil master flame gas grill the flame is either very high or very low
How old is the grill? The size of the holes in the burner is critical. As burners age, the holes rot out, and get bigger. The velocity of the gas exiting the holes has a large effect on flame size. New burner is the most typical solution.
