Kenwood ddx6019 my player works, all the buttons are functional but when on the screen does not light up, with a light you can see the touch buttons on the screen but its dark, how can this be repaired?

Aka your not helping these people god, you guys **** at life. ok heres the problem with kenwoods.... they have **** pardon my french.... ribbon cables that attach to the faceplate of the unit. odds of your faceplates backlight just mysteriously going out 1:50 odds of the ribbon cable breaking 1:5..... catch my drift. you can buy a replacement cable online for cheap so that could be your fix. now you will need to repair the unit either yourself or by a professional. but dont listen to these assholes cause its not that hard. but the consequences if you do are tragic. either way this part when bought will mst likely be cheaper than what the repair guy charges so you can take that route as well. i have had several ribbons from kenwood break on me in over a span of 10 years so wouldnt be suprised

The back lighting needs to be replaced - - shop only kind of repair don't attempt it yourself or I can just about assure you that you'll turn it to unrepairable garbage...
