LG L1732S monitor flickering bright bluish (turquoise) circles

It's been 3 years since I got this branded (LG) PC. I have had no problems until the past 3 weeks, when I started noticing this bright blue-greenish (turquoise) circles appearing on the left hand corner of the monitor and increasing with usage time. It kinda spreads all the screen at times with bright light mixing up colors. It is pretty on and off. I would also like to mention that my UPS (backup battery) has been not working since over 4 weeks and I have directly connected the system to the power socket. I am unsure if this problem is due to the infrequent power voltage or if there is really a problem with the monitor itself..
Pls help.. Ur valued suggestions would matter..

SOURCE: Green light flickering & Sunset red screen display.

You've got components that have gone bad, probably from age and the normal heat inside a CRT monitor case.

I hate to say it, but it's really not worth fixing. You can usually find a used but working 17" monitor for under 20 bucks.

Dell s2309wb flickers a bit and then turns off at any brightness setting under 73%. After turning off and on, shuts off again after a few seconds. 4.7 year old monitor.

older post DELL says its 10 years old made in 2008
yes,
did you test this monitor unplugged on PC using the OSD screen
for 10 seconds, each power on OSD works.
see if 50% brightness works, if yes, the PC has problems.
seems you did and did not test monitor on other PC
and did not test your PC on other monitor,.both simple tests.

you are now speculating that one brand is better that another,
Viewsonic is best, HP and deLL< others not so.
what you failed to do is test your PC with known good monitor
and test the monitor on a known good PC.
2 tests. that yell truth.

Id go Viewsonic, we have many here, not one failed ever.
2010 or newer,
back in before year 2010 LED monitors they had JUNK monitors.
with weak low life, CCFL tubes inside, as YOURS DOES.
all monitors had that then, its not maker name issue at ALL.
here is how I discover truth,
1: I PRETEND TO BUY THE MAIN BOARD IN YOUR MONITOR.
AND LOW AND BELOLD CCFL H3LL IS THERE,
  • go dim,
  • go yellow on white pages.
  • strobe.
  • totally crazy random works or not,
  • blinks
  • will not dim right.(gee they are now old and weak)
  • last 20,000 hrs (not much) and do all the above,
  • now your board see these 4 jacks on the left 1000vdc to CCLF.
I have posted these hard fact there at fixya 100 + times.
here it is 1 more time.
I have the same tubes in my garage ceiling laps 8ft long and do the same thing.

Monitor has developed a permanent dark turquoise hue.

Did you ever try the original monitor on another machine. If the new monitor is displaying the same symptoms as the old one then your video card is the culprit.

LG Studioworks 700E

It sounds like one of the capacitators inside the monitor is malfunctioning, these little things store a certain amount of necessary power and then discharge it when it is needed.  If it is malfunctioning, it could explain why it takes so long to charge, and why when you hit it, it suddenly comes on.
