Purchasing this Whirlpool dishwasher

If you are in the UK and purchase a Hoover machine, parts are warranted for 10 years.

If it's leaking from the door, a new gasket may fix this. If it's leaking from the pump, the seal is worn out, and the repair may be too costly or difficult. If the unit is 5 years old, consider a replacement.

check the door gasket. check that it is draining. disconnect drain line from under sink ad put into a bucket. most likely it isn't draining ad is overflowing.

I had no lights on my control panel, eventhough power was good.
I replaced the control panel ($265 part), it worked for 2 weeks, then I now have the same problem.
Frustrated, I am probably going to buy new from a different manufacturer.
Whirlpool/maytag does not warranty electronic parts if you do it yourself.

Deatsy, my advice would to buy a new washer. These GE's transmissions are not fun to replace. Taking the age in consideration the job could be compounded by rusting or corroded parts. Get a Whirlpool or Kenmore direct drive and it should give you years of service at a reasonable price.
