Hi,
Ive been having these problems for years now and just today ive decided to fix it.

You dont actually have to do any complicated things, since its already connected ("it is showing as connected on the screen, and the ipod lights up"). You dont have to choose a function (Aux, Int, HDMI) just leave it as it is. Set your tv on blue ray dvd, get your blue ray remote Menu>Down to Ipod>Music> BAM!! there it is :-D

I have a sky+ hd box connected to an lg 42LH300 tv through hdmi and an LG HT805SH home cinema through optical cable. Whenever i turn sky over i lose sound and have to turn cinema on/off to sound returns ...

One of the way to connect the whole system is using only HDMI cable version 1.3a. There is audio return channel built into the cable. So you do not have to connect the optic cable.
Sky box to TV using HDMI
LG HT805 to TV using HDMI. Even the Sky box audio will come back to the LG-HT through the audio return path.

Hi, Ive tried to set up my samsung blue ray

It seems as though the HT works fine, so to get the TV itself to play through the HT setup, take the audio out from the TV and hook it up to a separate channel on the HT receiver. Turn on TV and receiver and put the receiver on the respective channel of the receiver. I hope this helps.

I have a sumsung dvd home cinema system ht.thx25 when I put a dvd in it says disc unknown but when I put a free dvd in from the newspaper it plays.

Is the disc just a regular disc, not HD or blu ray?
Is the disc a region 1 coded disc?

If it is, the unit should play it fine.

HDMI conection

Hi.
Connect the Home cinema and the TV with the HDMI cable. When you turn it on, first turn on the TV and then the home cinema. I hope this works.
