2002 harley davidson am-fm cassette radio

The battery on my electra-glide went dead this winter, from sitting. Jumped with a charger, at 40 amps. Now every function on the radio is working, but no sound comes out of the speakers, except for a low static sound. Is this a small repair bill or should I find a new radio?

2002 FLTR Radio Problem

You fried the circuitry in the radio, you can't jump the battery at so many amps, it needs to be gradually charged up if the radio is attached. You need to take the radio to an electronics store to see if they can salvage it and replace the fried board, if they can't, then you need a new radio. This is a common problem that many people have experienced so don't feel bad since you aren't the first to do it.

I'm sorry that I am the bearer of bad news, but if you have any further questions, please let me know

What are the factory stereo specs for a 2007 electra glide classic?

Radio is a 4 channel 22 watts per channel 2 ohm stable unit. There are no pre-amp outputs, so be sure whatever amp you're using accepts high level inputs, or have pre-amps installed by Iron Cross Audio. When adding the amp, be sure the speakers used are impedance matched to the amp, not the radio.

Radio turns on but no sound from the speakers?

The jump should not have affected your radio, other than to blow the fuse. As it did not do that your problem is something else. I suggest either a radio buff or an Auto-electrician, once it gets beyond basic wiring it is out of my league. The only way you will know, is to take it apart, but to find the buggered part has always beaten me. Use a multi-meter and you should get lucky. Good Luck.

2002 FLTR Radio Problem

Sounds like you may have blown one of the radio fuses. Don't know about that radio but usually there is one fuse red wire for the key hot and one fuse for the radio memory yellow wire and one of em is blown. I don't know if there are security codes for those radios or not if both of the fuses are good. Dont know if it will be a main radio fuse just in the main fusebox or block or if there is another or other fused in the fairing.
