I have a toshiba projection televison model 61A61 and I just moved cross country, now my tv has sound but no picture. The tv screen remains totally black and I cannot get anything to appear on the tv while using the remote or directly using the tv itslef. no picture from cable or dvd
Then your optical section has fault.
ignore my first post. u have got to try few things before that
First, unplug the tv and connect it directly to the power line,
bypassing the surge protector to make sure that is not the problem -
then after you have gotten everything fixed up you can reconnect it. I
don't trust surge protectors either.
Second; the firt thing to do whenever the tv acts up is to reset the
internal software codes that control everything that goes on
internally. Follow the manual for the reset operation or just unplug
the power cord for 4 hours or overnight. That will automatically reset
everything to the factory defualt settings.
If the reset does not help and you still cannot get the channel to
change, try using the manual controls on the front panel rather than
the remote.
If you still get no picture after the reset, try a vcr or dvd input to see if you can get it with external video input.
When you say there is no picture, do you mean the screen is totally
dark, or do you see some raster or flicker or anything coming or
flashing on the screen? If the screen is totally dark and there is
nothing on it (you may need to view it in a totally dark room to tell
if it is really totally dark) then it means you have probalby lost the
high voltage.
If there is some evidence of light on the screen, it means the high
voltage is okey and the set has lost its video; and maybe the tuner or
front end electronics has all been damaged by the switching transients
during the power problems.
The moving it back and forth from the place u live the first time
might have shook a connection back into place, if none of this works
you might have to go back to the repair shop. There is very little an
average homeowner can do to repair electronics.
if Convergence amp ic bad then try
