you are lucky its still glows at all. no , really !
no photo , no guess. sorry, the examples of bad presentations
on any screen, made is near infinite. only photos work.
some CRT had a color bar test mode.
so turn off the test switch.
you never said what it was plugged into? Windows 3.12?
if its a mushy blob of colors? a blob like of stated 3 colors

problem with the monitor Display cable. it is damaged.

Normally monitor will receive 3 colors red, green, Blue signals from CPU. If one cable i.e Red wire connection is missing in display cable which is connected to monitor, Red color image on monitor wil be replaced with other fade color.
So, need the replace the display cable or display connector!

Sounds like overstressed video cable, at least that wire for BLUE signal, 'cause when image is yellow - the BLUE color is missing.
Open the monitor and ring coaxial wire in blue insulation.

I suspect you've got the audio and video cables mixed up.

Video inputs on monitor will be yellow for video and red/blue for audio. PC end of cable will be round and connect to your video card. Or .. you should have a cable with a 15 pin mini D on both ends or a DVB cable.

The pink, white and blue connectors on your pc are audio connections for speakers/headphones.

In a monitor like crt type. there are three colors amplifier. Red, Green and Blue. I think the Blue color amplifier is defective. Try check the biasing and also the transistor.

Right-click on any open space on your desktop. Click on properties and the Display properties will come up. Click on settings and make sure the resolution slide is all the way to the right. And Color Quality is set to 32 bits on the small window.

I hope u have a CRT monitor. If not just post ur type.
For CRT, the reason for the monitor displaying in pink is that PICTURE TUBE MAY HAVE BEEN DAMAGED.
Inside the monitor there will be RGB (Red Green Blue) picture tube . If any one of them gets affected it will display in some oddcolors like in your case. So, that may be your problem.

as you are electronics engineer so let us discuss technically.

as you are unable to see green colour means you might be seeing picture of magenta colour

as technically

red+blue = magenta

crt has got three cathodes

your two cathodes circuit is fine one ckt that is green cathode circuit is not working.

for that problem your will have to check

• cable from computer to monitor
• loose contact in crt base.
• crt connector loose
• voltage on green video output.
• green video output transistor might be defective.or print loose.
• circuit related to green video ckt
• green video signal coming to green video ckt.
• & finally crt defective (in rare case.)
