Tv wont turn on no more it was fine this morning then is turn off i try turn on and off the power light turns green the click off again and it turns red flashin plus the sleep light red as well flashin plz help me thxs

I had a problem with my Sharp LC-15e1u where it will not turn on
by pressing the LARGE RED pb on top. The power button remains red. It also used to be green. Well I tinkered with it and
found by starting with the power OFF,
Press both Menu & TV/Video
Turn on by pressing the Big Red Button
The power lignt is red for one second then turns green.
The TV Then turns on leaving you on channel 58.
The volume control slides from 0-30-60 and back to 0.
Also there is a small "K" in the upper left corner of the screen.

I'm returning the unit for a Factory warrenty. I bought it on
clearance "AS IS".

Assuming the inverters are bad, its better to replace all of them at the same time (there are 4 of them). Inverter A and B are the main inverters (generally $100ish is the cost... however it also depends if the service center decides to mark up the price). Inverters C and D are $10ish each (again, depending on markup). And generally, service centers charge around $200ish for labor. So total, youre looking at roughly $400-500ish.

Again, assuming the inverters are bad, they are available for repair. However, if the problem lies with the lamps, then you are looking at needing a new LCD panel (which are VERY expensive and cost more than the TV is worth).

This kind of problem is tricky to diagnose though. Basically all you can do is try to replace the inverters, and if that doesn't help, then its the lamps.
