Sorry you are having trouble.
Led's have a + and a - side.
With a magnifying glass you should be able to see where each one goes on the board. Start with pwr s/w. when you have it on the right pins then you can push the button and turn it on. I have done with with a screwdriver and quickly touching two pins at a time until it comes on.
Next the power LED. This one should be on all the time.
Last id hdd LED. This one will only be on when HDD is active and reading or writing.
The connector you are looking for is normally in the right hand corner opposite the power supply and has all the wires from the case going to it.

Dell motherboard diagram of wiring and front pannel connectors

most front panel connectors with a 4 x 5 pin configuration are intel compliant, and are all the same.
The "nine" pin is missing, and is the "KEY" to orientation, no matter which way the pins are situated on the board.
1 3 5 7 X
2 4 6 8 10

1= HDD LED+, usually green
3= HDD-, usually white or black
2= PWR LED+, usually red
4= PWR LED-, white or black
These are polarity specific, and must be connected to the proper + and - terminals to work properly

5= RESET
7= RESET
9 is missing, can be used to determine location of other pins
6= PWR
8= PWR

Thes are momentary contact pins, can't get them backwards

Pins 6 and 10 are jumped together in the Dimension 2400.

Ok these go on a small dual row of Header Pins on the Motherboard, Generally near the front or side of the MB. They may be marked the same as on the leads. Otherwise you will have to look in the manual to see what one is what. I wonder how they came off?

There are may motherboards, but most have writing on them as to what is suppose to plug where. For example, for the power switch, the lettering might be "Pwr" or "Power" or "Pwr sw". The pins are usually together and should fit the plug on the end of the wire.

TRYING TO HOOK UP MU POWER BUTTON NEED TO KNOW

Hi there
The front panel connectors are mainly,
  • harddisk activity connector
  • power switch connector
  • reset switch connector
  • power LED connector
  • speakers connector
  • USB connector
Harddisk activity connector
This normally comes red in colour and is labeled as HDD-LED
Power switch connector
This comes green in colour and is labeled as POWER-SW
Reset switch connector
This usually comes grey in colour and is labeled as RST-SW
Power LED connector
This is usually green in colour and is labled as PWR-LED
Speakers connector
This speaker will give different beep sounds during boot to tell the user if there is any errors. It occupies 4 pins, however only 2 is important for the function. Be sure to connect the red coloured cable to the positive polarity and the black to the negative.
