Question about Samsung DLP HL-P4663W 46" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

No Picture no sound

My DLP made a weird noise and the picture and sound went out. I replaced the lamp and there is still not picture or sound. What do you suggest.

The color wheel will make a high pitched sound or even a clicking sound if it is bad. Also the ballast will make a clicking sound also if it is not seated to the lamp properly or if the ballast need replaced.

have you pulled the lamp out & checked it. It is possible you have gotten poor quality lamp. It is critical on a mitsubishi to get the proper lamp.

Have a dlp samsung HLT6176S no picture already replaced the bulb still no picture what gives

Remove the lamp and look at the color wheel that faces it.

If wheel is shattered or missing pieces set will know it is not moving or moving too slow and shut set and lamp off.

We have a samsung DLP tv model number HLP 4663W tv. The picture went so we replaced the bulb. Still no picture and the tv makes a noise that sounds like a fan and the tv cycles on and off by itself. ...

Yes, almost certainly a bad color wheel, see attached photo.

If you remove the lamp and look in the direction it faces you should be able to see the wheel, look for it to be missing pieces or shattered.

You Tube has detailed video instructions for replacement in most of the Samsung sets; I have replaced dozens of the wheels.

We heard a loud noise, then picture went out. A weird fluctuating hum is still being heard. Replace bulb, same problem is happening. Picture had lines and went pinkish before going out.

Sounds like the ballast went out, thats the part that runs high voltage for the bulb.

Loud cracking sound, and now, nothing

Hopefully its only the lamp. Inspect lamp for breakage. Lamp power supply ok??. Check any air vents (filters if any) before replacing. Lamp life is only a few thousand hours, easy to do in a year, 5-6hrs a day. Check your manual.
