If the cartridges were out of the printer for any length of time the ink has dried up on the print heads. you most likely will have to replace the ink cartridges. then allign again before it will print correctly

Replaced ink cartridges, printer goes through all the motions, but paper comes out blank. I have done all the maintenance steps. What gives?

Cannon ink cartridges go into a print head. This is normally a removable box the ink cartridge sits in.

First remove the head and the cartridges from it. Now try this to clean the old ink off the print head, rub/soak the print head in alcohol. Make sure the print head is complete dry and place the ink back in it and return to the printer. Try to print a page, if you have the same results you need to replace the print head.

My HP 3550 deskjet will simply not print. It goes through the motions and seems to be printing --but the page is blank or very faint. I have already cleaned and re-calibrated the printer

Check ink-levels -- no ink means no printing.
Run a few more "print-head-cleaning" cycles -- clogged ink-jets cannot spray ink onto the paper.

Hi

Please try to add or set up the printer again and set it as default printer. and then try to print the test page.

If not, remove the cartridge and rub the print head into a plain paper with alcohol until inks flows on the paper. Return the cartridges and run the print nozzle for 2-3 times. Then try to print again.

The Ink at the head of your Printer Cartridges has dried up.
Try this:

Load some plain paper in the printer

Remove the cartridges from the printer and carefully dab the print heads of the cartridges with a damp paper towel. ( when you start to see ink, the ink is starting to flow).

Replace the cartridges into the printer.

Go to:

Start
Control Panel
Printers
RIGHT click on this printer
choose Printing preferences
services
clean print cartridges 9some papers may print)
follow the instructions and do the heavier cleaning as well

Run the calibration function and allow the paper to print.

Printer has ink, but nothing comes out on the paper.

You might need a new print head. If the printer is older maybe a new one would be cheaper.

If the printer has been unused for a considerable time the cartridges may have become blocked with dried ink.

Remove the cartridge(s). Take a slightly dampened cotton bud or piece of kitchen paper and carefully wipe the copper coloured surface on the cartridge(s). Then wipe with a dry piece of kitchen paper.

Re-insert the cartridge(s) and perform the print head cleaning function in your printer control panel.

Now try printing.

Printing is blank...no ink coming out on to paper

Your printer cartiage will be out of ink.

Or it will be dry cause of not used from long time.

Change the printer cartiage may fix this problem.

Thanks.

Acts like it's printing, ink is good, but nothing prints out on paper.

Nothing at all? Poor you are. The pump may damage or lost electricity.

Printer "prints" but when it's done, no ink shows on the page.

When you filled your cartridges were they empty? If so there is a good possibility that the nozzles are gummed and dried up. If you are going to fill them yourself watch the indicator that comes up on the screen it will tell you when you are getting low. If you get a low indication fill it asap. This will keep your nozzles wet and free flowing. Waiting until its empty can cause them to gum up and altimately dry out. My solution is to go to the store buy brand new cartridges. Go through the the full set up that your manufacture recomends. This means using the install new ink cartridge utility that came with your printer. Print a test page and print a nozzle aligment page. Just remember never let your ink completely run out before filling. If you follow this you will never run into this problem again.
