One of our DS's will not turn on. I have plugged in the recharge cord, and let it charge overnight. When I try to turn it on, the green light comes on briefly, and the bottom screen flickers, but then the game turns off.
I have taken the battery out of this DS, and put the battery in a new DS, and that DS works. I have also taken the battery from a DS that works, and put it in the malfunctioning DS, and it does the same thing--green light comes on and bottom screen flickers, but nothing happens.
My ds will not turn on. The green light wont even come on. it just stopped turning on!! i plug a charger into the unit and it shows a constant orange. It was charged the previous night before. I have a Nintendo ds lite, suddonly while i was playin it on charge (yes thats right i was playin it while it was on charge, so theres no way it can be flat) it turned off.......so ooo i tried to turn the ds on again, it went on for about a second then turned off again.
At last from all these times from turning it on it stayed on !!! I tried to turn the nds off again but it wouldnt turn off, i tried a million times to turn it off but it just wouldnt turn off. I took the batery out and put it back in which restarted the system, i turned the nds on again, it Worked, i thought it was fixed !!! UNTIL i tried to turn it off again, it still wont turn off !!!!!
so i decided to play my r4ds, ( will the r4ds have anything to do with it???) while i was playing Worms: Open Warfare 2 the nds turned off again....WTF?? And now evry now and get it turns off automatically while playing a game, But i still CAN'T Turn it off by the power Switch!!!!

Hi, if the bottom screen briefly comes on with a white screen. There is a issue with the top screen, it is either the top screen itself or if there is damage to the hinge it will more than likely be the cheaper option the ribbon cable that threads though the hinge to the top screens PCB board.

1. Check battery - try recharging it overnight 2. Check integrity of AC charger if it still working properly. Or you can try charging the psp overnight using USB charger.
Leave the unit plugged in overnight and then try powering it up. The batter may be so dead that it has to be replaced if it will not charge. Check that the power cord is powering the unit at 12 volts.
How does it charge? If the orange charge light stays on for only a short time and than turns off, you may need a new battery. Rechargeable batteries lose their capability of holding a charge. I would suggest trying a friend's battery and see if it resolves the problem.
For GBA games the green light is meant to stay on. The orange light will stay on as long as its recharging. It will turn off when its fully recharged or when you unplug it
The battery is probably completely drained. Rechargeable batteries have a certain lifetime in which they can be charged to. The charge limit for a Nintendo DS is approx. 500 charges. When you pass this limit the battery will no longer work. Your best option is to buy a replacement battery at http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/
After a year or more a rechargeable battery won't last as long as it did when it was new.
The DS's battery has a limit to how many times you charge it,but then again the charger's wire inside it might be disconnected.
Try to buy a new DS charger and see if its the wire,if its not then try to call nintendo to see if they might be able to replace the battery(for a fee).
