Have a similar problem - unit worked fine for six months but now says disc will not play when I use a Blu Ray disc, but will accept the accompanying DVD. Tried to update firmware by USB, but says error in data. Checked with Samsung in UK and they reckon this is because I have a Mac. Suggested I get firmware update via a PC, eg at my supplier's premises - if not successful will have to go back under warranty. Hope this helps...
Are you playing original blu ray disc? Is your player capable of reading multi-format. Read your manual for troubleshooting. If that won't help. Try to play original blu ray or the ones that you have played in before. It that plays that means you have defective blu ray or unreadable format. Hope this help.

Have you updated the firmware on it? I had a similar problem with a Sony blu-ray player and I had to download an update and burn it on to a CD then allow the CD to update the blu-ray player. What's the model number of your player, I may be able to get a link to the update for you.
