If you spin around that means the right stick is being pressed in a direction without you even touching it because of loss of calibration. There are some calibration utilities online but for the start you can let Windows calibrate your gamepad.
Open control panel -> classic view (on the left) -> Game Controllers -> Select your controller -> Properties -> Settings tab -> Select Calibration and follow the instructions. If during calibration you see that the right and/or left stick is being pressed in a direction, it is a hardware issue. In such cases replacing the controller is a better option. If it is still under warranty you can get it replaced. If you bought it from Game stop they do normally accept returns within a month or so.
There is one thing you can that sometimes works: Press the right stick towards right and turn it fast in a circle all the way through clockwise. Repeat it 3-4 times and then do it anti clockwise. It works for me each time my controller acts like that, I dont know how but it doesnt matter. Hope it works.
