How to adjust brightness 40e220u

To adjust the brightness to your preferred level on the Toshiba 40E220U, you need to access the Personal settings section of the Picture settings. Press Menu (on the TV or remote). The Menu button is the second button from the bottom of the buttons on the side of the TV. On the remote, it's the button above Eject and to the left and below the left arrow key. Use the Left/Right arrows to select the Picture icon. Press the Up/Down arrows to navigate this sub-menu. To select an item, press Enter. The Picture Settings is the second item from the top in the Picture menu. Once highlighted, press Enter. Then navigate to the Brightness line, press Enter. Use the Left/Right arrow keys to adjust the brightness. (Note: you may need to adjust the contrast as well. That is a separate option.) Use the arrow keys to highlight Done after adjusting the brightness. Then press Enter to save. If you select Reset and press Enter, the TV will return to the previous settings. You may also need to adjust the Mode (one line above Picture Settings) to Preference instead of the Movie or Standard mode.

You can find this information in the manual which is available here: https://support.dynabook.com/support/modelHome?freeText=3259132 . My file history gave the direct link of https://content.us.dynabook.com/content/support/manuals/userguides/su3221447/GMA300011011_CCFL_11Dec08.pdf for the manual. Most of the information is on page 72. However, the use of the TV and remote buttons is described on page 42; this is towards the end of the summary of the Menu layout.

I hope this helps.

Hello, how can I adjust my screen brightness????

Most laptops have several buttons on the keyboard that can adjust the screen brightness.
1. Find the "Function" key on your keyboard and hold it down. 2. Find the brightness up and down buttons on your keyboard. In this picture, they are on the F7 and F8 key. 3. While holding down the function button, press the key that has the "brightness up" picture on it, similar to the icon on the F8 key in the picture. . bradisright.jpg

Some channels on my tv are dark and tinted orange, I used the menu button to display the menue and scrolled down to picture but I did not know how to select picture.

Hello
Adjust colour control to zero, and check for a pure black/white picture. Adjust contrast and brightness control to minimum and check whether the picture goes completly off or a slight picture prevails. If the picture goes out when you turn down brightness control to 1/3 position, that is about 20 points, your TVs screen voltage is very low, and it can be adjustable. If the picture does not go out and more brightness prevails, screen voltage is high. If the screen voltage is high, there will be some fine lines across the screen at about an inch apart; on the whole screen from top to bottom.
Screen voltage adjustment is critical for the clarity of the picture. If it is low, no proper colour will be dispayed. If it is high, it is harmful to both picture tube and your eyes.
Never try to adjust it without proper knowledge about it. The screen control can be located alongwith the LOT [Line Output Transformer], of your tv. There will have two adjustable controls there, one is for Focus, and the other is for Screen. Both are interactive, that is adjusting one will effect an other.

I cant get the color right. its to red??? any help? i did notice with the back cover off, there are 6 adjustment screws

yes! those are the screen and focus adjustments. 3 for screen, 3 for focus. try this. go in menu....turn down color, brightness, contrast all they way down. you should then have no picture, but in your case a little red. then go to back of tv and turn those 3 screen adjustments all the way down. slowly turn the screens back up until you get barely a picture. because remember, your brightness and contrast is all the way down. the picture should be dim but seeable and with red, green, blue adjustments, make it a black and white picture. when balanced..... turn up color , brightness, contrast in menu. enjoy!

Mitsubishi VS-6041- picture brightness not very bright

Hi Dawn,
The TV does have a screen control on each of the picture tubes ( there are 3 ) although I do suggest you have a qualified technician make the necessary adjustments as an improper adjustment can cause damage to the set. Should you deside to make these adjustments yourself, you'll need to remove the back ( or front in some sets) ( PRE-CAUTION, UNPLUG THE SET FROM THE WALL BEFORE PREFORMING ANY ADJUSTMENTS INSIDE THE SET ) The screen adjustments are located either on the bottom of each tube or in a group component located where the main High Voltage Wire ( large red wire from the black transformer on the deflection board ) is connected to. Look for a turn pot ( screw type adjustment ) that is marked SCREEN. When you locate it ( whether it be on each tube or in the group component ) turn it up only slightly and not to much, as excessive gain ( turning it up to much ) may cause the TV to shut down. When you have the proper brightness ( when it looks good to you ) close the set up and enjoy the renewed picture. Good luck and I do hope this has helped in some way

Brightness of picture

If you feel good about opening your set then you can try this: Look for the flyback (high voltage) transformer, with the thick red wire which goes to the top of the picture tube. There are 2 controls on the flyback transformer, focus (top) and screen (bottom)Turn the brightness and contrast all the way down and then increase the screen control until you see retrace lines, and then back it down until those lines just vanish. Return the brightness and contrast to normal and adjust the focus control, if necessary, for a nice sharp picture. Let me know if that brings your brightness back.

Brighteness

In my case, the adjustment was available from outside the TV. Sortof. On the rear of the TVabout 2 inches to the right of the coax in, there are two vertical slits on a little protrusion. Inside the slits are the two adjustment screws. The lower screw adjusts brightness, the upper screw adjusts focus. I spend 30 minutes popping the case apart just to find that I could not access the adjustment screws from inside. Lo and behold, they made them easily accessible from the outside. On a side note, I have never seen a TV designed as poorly as this on the inside. You have to literally reach in and unplug things just to get the back off. All the electronics save the tube itself are mounted to the rear chassis. On all other TV's I've seen (taken apart, rather), all the electronics are in the FRONT part of the chassis so that they move WITH the tube.
