We have a Panasonic Viera 37 in. Plasma television hooked up to a brand new Sony HDMI CD/DVD player using a new connector cable. The reason we bought a new DVD player is because we thought the color distortion (mostly red with fuzzy lines) was due to the DVD player. Obviously we were mistaken because it is still happening with the new DVD player.
If the player has other outputs try connecting the player to the tv using one of them, ie: use the A/V output instead of HDMI from the player. If the problem goes away there is something wrong with the input on the tv.
I'm not sure what you mean by channel? Each input on the tv can be
selected separatley, ie: Video1, Video2, HDMI etc. If the player is
connected to the Video1 input you have to set the tv to view the Video1
Input. If you get the same problem no matter what input you have it
connected to, then yes it is the tv at fault and you may need to take
it in for service.
Interference can be coming from large speakers placed close to the unit
or another device plugged into the same outlet could be causing it. Try
unplugging all other devices from the tv as well as all other devices
using the same outlet for power. It could be your Cable or Antenna
connection or your Cable provider.

we tried that before with no luck. it seems as if the red fuzzy lines are on this channel even if we unplug the player. I'm afraid that means it is the TV? Is it possible to use another channel? We don't know how to do that...
Thanks!
we just got off the phone with panasonic and ruled out it being the TV. he said the only explanation is "interference" coming from another source of some kind. is there anything we can do about that? Thanks!
