Samsung syncmaster 203b problem

It started going out. at first, when I restarted my PC and it would come back on. Power light is on, but the screen does not come on. The screen flickers from the right side of the monitor. It looks light gray

Hello,

This is a typical symptom of a failure of the capacitors on the power supply board. When the filter capacitors go bad the power supply can not start up correctly so you get flickering or even no display. You can repair this unit by replacing the bad capacitors and a fuse on the power supply. This is an easy repair, it just requires a little soldering. Here is a lin to additional information on which capacitors need to be replace and also here is a picture of the power supply board with the capacitors and fuse circled.

This model is a great one and well worth repairing. The display problem you are having is caused by bad capacitors on the power supply board. To repair the unit you will need to replace 6 capacitors and one fuse on the board, this is very easy to do, it just requires a little soldering. Here is a picture of the power supply board with the capacitors and the fuse circled and here is a link to additional information on the capacitors needed.

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). Hello,

The picture board of your monitor has developed fault. That is why the screen is black.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity, because the fault is not something you can fix in other not to complicate issues..

The repairer will help diagnose and replace the faulty picture board and your monitor is back and better.

When we first turn the monitor on from power saver mode the screen light is dull and then it turns black. We have to keep turning the monitor off and on until the screen stays on.

My monitor started to give me problems when I first turn it on I have to push the power button several times before it will stay on it's the samsung syncmaster 203b
you need your power supply reaired. the capacitors go bad. remove the covers and look at the power supply reeplace any leaking and or crowned capacitors
