You're seeing the histogram, which shows valuable information about your picture's exposure. While viewing, press up/down to cycle through the different views of the picture.

No picture on screen when switched on

You have not given enough information. Are you trying to see
recorded photos or expecting to see the image from the lens?
You normally have an option to either use the view finder OR the
LCD display. It usually defaults to the view finder and you must activate the LCD with a button.

Have a d8o take a picture does not show on back screen

If you wish to manually view all the photos you've taken, press the play button, it is located near the screen on the back with a triangle logo.

If you wish to automatically view photos after they've been taken, press the menu button, go to the sub menu with the pencil icon, and turn "Image review" to on.

If you wish to view the images on the back screen as you take them, this is not possible with the D80. You have to use the viewfinder.

Display screen no longer works while taking pictures

Sounds like they accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of the camera. This manually turns the screen on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time with the camera turned on.

When viewing pictures on the screen, a yellow graph shows up on the screen. It is hard to view the pictures this way. Is there a way to turn yhis off?

Look for a button on the back of the camera saying "info" or something similar. Pressing the button will step you through a few different information screens along with not showing information from the screen.

When camcorder is turned on the screen shows red or yellow screen

I have the same problem of picture distortion when recording on my PV-GS200 camcorder. It's due to a faulty CCD block, which you can read about on various websites. I can play back pre-CCD failure tapes without a problem. Panasonic recalled quite a few GS200 camcorders with specific serial numbers in the US and Canada, and replaced the faulty 3-CCD chip free of charge. I just discovered this tonight and intend to ring Panasonic tomorrow, as the camcorder - bought new - lasted only two years before the CCD fault became apparent. Obviously, the camcorder was not of merchantable quality.
