Remove the back and check and see if the battery isn't fully connected
I put a folded peace of paper and put it on top of the battery
Also push softly but firmly on the Rubber rectangle above the battery (This is the Chipset For the screen, Black screen Blue ring problem) and put the back on.

It was kept idle for 4 months.when power button is pressd the screen shows "battery is too low system shut down".when charging is tried through PC USB port there is no proper charging

Not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge batteries. If you have another USB port on your computer, try that. Try another computer. If that doesn't work, try an AC-to-USB charger, as you might find for cell phones.

There is a trick to charging the battery in these small mp3 players. It wont charge if it is turned on, and it won't charges if it's turned off. Here what to do...
1. plug the payer into your USB port. or wall charger
2. switch thje palyer on using the mechanical switch (on the side)
3. turn it off by either holding down the play button, or selecting "System" from the menu
4. The screen will go black and the battery will begin charging.

Sansa

If your battery has been removed from the case, check the connectors to be sure they aren't bent enough to make them hit the plastic battery housing. My 260 wouldn't play unless it was connected to a wall charger and that was what the problem turned out to be. I carefully bent the terminals up just a little and my E260 went right back to work! The battery terminals may also be corroded or dirty. At any rate it is a good place to start and costs nothing to check.

Problem with sansa e260

that happens to me too. i think the problem is that your computer can't like, sense that it's plugged in, so your battery's dying out, and the computer wont charge it
