you have you ask your machine to send it to your stick either direct or connected to a lap top or pc then you send it to your pc save it then send it to your usb hub where you have your stick

does it work even without thread if so something wrong with thread tension and thread paths
send more info as you saw when this failed

If you have sent troubleshooting report to futura-support and their reply didn't help, ask for remote session with support center. Otherwise launch troubleshooting utility and send its report to support. It is difficult to determine a root of the problem without info about machine model, software version, firmware version, pc configuration etc.

The model 400 was sold in the late 1990s and I consider it a reliable machine.

Search for troubleshooting utility in your Futura folder, launch it and send report to Singer. It is quite difficult to determine the root of the problem without your pc configuration and Futura folder content info.
