I had the same problem with an old 64MB jump
drive. I did some hunting around
on HWA as well as Googling other forums. The general agreement seemed
to be that the
drive was simply dead. I tried changing all the permissi
ons, attrib in CMD, and even logging in
to Linux as "root" (the equivilent of Microsoft's "Administra
tor")
to no avail. I was able
to back the files up
to another
drive, and they regained their permissi
on settings, but from what I read, the
drive was simply dead.
