Question about Whirlpool 25.6 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator with In-Door-Ice Dispensing System

Refrigirator stop cooling

Have a side by side Whirlpool refrigerator, 8 years old. When power is switched on, i can hear the condenser try do do something, the after 4 to 8 seconds stops and repeats this cycle over and over. The thermostat is definitely sending the signal to cool. The condenser is warm but the but the condenser coils are "cold" / room temp in relation the condenser.

If you hear a noise like clicking when the compressor tries to start and unit will not cool the starter overload on the side of the compressor that starts it has burnt out simple replace the starter overload and it should start

Kim pull refrigerator away from wall and unplug power. Remove lower panel that cover compressor and condenser fan and condenser coils. Don't wait too long but feel the top of compressor and tell me if cool, warm or too hot to hold had there. Let me know those results as I gather up the possible problems that could be related. Did you by chance check the defrost timer by turning timer through opening below and behind the Control panel=> ARB2217CSR Control Panel Did you say you changed a switch or thermostat here? See the defrost timer in photo at location 12? Try turning clockwise slowly until compressor starts or stops what ever may be happening. If stuck in defrost the timer part number=> 67001036 Defrost Timer It is possible that is the only problem but I will wait until I hear from you on turning the defrost Timer and feeling the top of compressor. It doesn't cool, and in freezer side its collecting water, and also water dripping in the refrigirator .
If this is happening while compressor is running normally , first check temperature of condenser coils (black tubing)while running. If hot to touch,compressor is ok.(Good news)If not hot ,it's shot,or your defrost heater stuck on.(not likely)

If compessor not coming on at all it could be a control problem.eg thermostat ,or stuck defrost timer.

If compessor wants to come on or you hear clicking ,suspect start relay or start capacitor.

You have a compressor that is trying to start but is not able and is going off on overload. A tech can try a "hard start kit" if the compressor is still unable to start then don't spend any more on it, get a new fridge

11 YEAR OLD SIDE BY SIDE SUDDENLY STOPPED COOLING BUT THE FAN RUNS AND DOSE NOT SHUT OFF.

Good day,
Open the freezer door, and see if you can hear the fan motor, that is located behind the rear panel.
If it's the source of the noise, then you will have to remove the rear panel to access the fan motor.
If not, go to the back bottom of the machine, remove the back cover and see if the cooling fan motor that cools the condenser and compressor s working properly.
If it's alright, then it will probably be a problem with the compressor itself.
STOP !! The compressor has one year left on it's warranty.
Call your selling dealer for warranty service. This is an expensive repair and altering the machine can void the factory warranty.

Sounds like the unit may be stuck in to defrost . The defrost clock is usually inside of the refrigerator compartment up by the thermostat controls. you can take a screw driver and advance the controller to make the compressor come back on . usually when they start to stick they neeed replacing. good luck and please don't forget to rate the answer please. Need help
A removable panel in the rear gives access to the compressor and condenser. Remove the panel and clean out the condenser. Make sure the condenser fan operates when the compressor runs. Restore the panel to its original position for normal operation.
